  1. Hey there. Yeah as amazing as gspot can be, its a little old and not always the most reliable. If you really need to get this done there is another way. Its pretty complex though and will set you off on a dark and lonely path (unless you understand this kind of stuff ) Basically there is another tool: http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo also gives you all kinds of info on your file, including the number of ref frames. To dig deeper you need to: click on the debug tab at the top click create a header file open that file with a Hex editor parse the data, which will allow you to count the frame types directly using the bits as per: http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/332756-How-to-detect-and-print-I-B-and-P-frames-of-a-GOP-frame
  2. Hey, Depends what fidelity you looking for. For DEM you could always try: ASTER: http://asterweb.jpl.nasa.gov/gdem.asp mad mappers: http://www.madmappers.com/ Then if you are looking for more detail you can buy data directly from the National Geospacial Information agencies in each country you looking for. For instance: http://www.ngi.gov.za/index.php/what-we-do Its dirt cheap, but may take a little time. The nice thing about DEM data is that you can use it for heightmaps, or use a free utility like http://www.qgis.co.za/en/site/ to extract the contours as splines ( which can then be imported into whatever 3D package you want ) Just remember that the DEM data uses floating point, so if you download an image and it looks black don't worry. If you crank the levels you'll start seeing the information.
  3. A little late but I use this: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ screenshots: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/ssvgs_basekey.html http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/ssvgs_frame_order.html http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/ss_main.html Its free and visually shows IBP frames.
