  1. Hello guys, i am trying to accomplish what seems like a relatively simple task but i cannot seem to get the right results. Basically I would like to track some footage of the golden gate bridge as the camera pans slightly from right to left. My problem occurs when i take my tracking data from after effects into c4d When I try to parent the model of the bridge to the null i exported from after effects it places my bridge way out of sight and not anywhere close to the point i tracked even after hitting reset psr I dont get better results. so what am i doing wrong? please help explain someone thanks zach
  2. hi guys just wondering if anyone knows how to set up a scene using projection man so that the projection displays correctly. right now I'm trying to render a 1280x720 hd comp and my photo is squished. So I'm wondering: 1. what does the default texture size do? 2.should my photo, comp and default texture size all be the same? thanks zach
  3. thanks guys I am finding by doing some research its a weird niche not alot of postings on job boards for just style frame artists mostly animators and designers but i guess when they say designer they can mean a variety of things.
  4. Hi guys I was hoping for a little advice from the mograph community. I like doing animation and mograph work but I've been trying to be honest with myself lately and I just don't think my heart is in it to just continue with that as my career. What I'm realizing is that what I really like to do is develop styles, designs and a "look" for a show or client. So basically what I'm asking is how does one go about being a style frames artist?. Do companies hire people just to do frames? How can one sell themselves as an artist who just does boards? Thanks for indulging my ignorance and hopefully you guys have some advice Please ignore the typos I'm writing this on my ipad. Thanks Zach

hey guys check it out and comment, hate, enjoy whatever!
  8. i wanted to use it because the volume light looks great better then a 3d stroke sometimes but thanks for the advice
  9. is it possible to get a volume light in c4d to follow the contours of a spline? similar to what a 3d stroke can do? i tried a spline wrap and it did not work any other ways to pull this off? thanks zach
  10. Hi all, I am running into a problem when i try to use area lights and shadows with text that has an inside layer that is solid and an outisde layer that is transparent glass i keep getting little black spots almost like grain on my shadows and parts of my text any clue whats going on? thanks alot for your help Zach
  11. hi guys im wondering how to pull off this trick. I have a white picket fence that i would like to animate with each fence post falling from the sky into a circle i already have the fence made and spline wrapped. My only issue is i cannot figure out which effector to use to pull this off i tried the plain effector and animated the falloff down to zero but when i do this my fence posts "snap" back up into space and dont stay clamped to the ground i tried the step effector and again could not get the posts to hit the ground at the position i want them too. every time the fence snaps back into mid air once the falloff hits zero any ideas? thanks
  12. Hi guys im wondering how I can get different stroke widths on one object when i apply sketch and toon right now all my lines are the same size and i would like to get the outside stroke to be thicker then the inside strokes thanks for the help

  14. hi im wondering what ways can i keep my geometry from cutting through each other im using a bunch of editable polygons on a fracture object with a random effector applied and sketch and toon for texturing thanks
