  1. Hi, I would like to create this texture for an object which has a noise pattern in the color and luminance, but I want it to look the same size no matter where the camera is. Is that possible? Noise from too close looks awful, and from too far is not visible, I want its dots to be always the size of 1 pixel. Thanks, Pau

Hi, I'm quite new to 3D, so excuse me if the answer to this is obvious, but I wonder how to get these smooth saturated colored shades in 3D: The different characters have saturated shades in their own colors, so I'm wondering if this is achieved via secondary illumination, something in the texture, rendering tweaks, in later composition or a mix of all. The only way I know how to set a colored gradient for shades is with a fresnel on the illumination channel (I'm talking in Cinema4D, but the question is general), but of course these are not real shades and it has a frontal perspective. Besides that I can only think of setting a color in the illumination channel for what I'd want to be the darkest possible shadow which would be mixed with the color channel) or working with ambient lights or secondary illumination, but the results are washed out or limited, and you don't get this progressive colored gradient... Thanks in advance!
  4. Yeah, I know that in the output module there's the field renderer, which I set to lower field first. But that only affects video that was previously interlaced. It doesn't interlace anything else :S
  5. But what about the graphics I create in AE? how do I interlace that? Isn't there a way to interlace footage alltogether when outputting? -- If you're producing work for broadcast, IMO everything should be interlaced, including the graphics. That means that you'll probably have to re-render your 3D output to fields. Dan
  6. This is quite a beginner's question: So I'm working with some interlaced footage among AE and Cinema 4D generated graphics. I interpret the video footage as deinterlaced. When outputting it, should I re-interlace it or not, having in mind that it will be broadcasted? Because if I do, only the video footage that was once interlaced appears interlaced and the rest of the graphics don't. Is that supposed to be the way it has to be? What's the point? Thanks!!
  7. I hadn't thought of applying a formula deformation to the spline. Although it does more than moving randomly its vertices, since I'm doing a ribbon it doesn't matter, so in my case I think it may work, and it's easy. Thanks

  10. Hi, I have a spline, and I'd like its points to move randomly. Just like in AE we have the wiggle expression, is there something I can do like that in C4D with the points of a spline? I'm new to it so I don't really know. I've noticed there's the vibrate tag, that you can add to an object, but I want to affect its points separately... Thanks! Pau
  11. Ok, I restarted the computer and saved again exported everything again from C4d, and now it works... so I don't know what was happening before. Thanks for your time!

  13. Thanks! But it still doesn't work. I'm using a mac, I put the mac C4D.plugin in the plug-ins folder in AE, inside the format folder there, but it can't still open it :S. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help with something that may be so obvious for you...

  15. Hi, I was wondering how you're supposed to deal with gradients when setting a color palette for a project. This may be a stupid question but here I go: Since a gradient is made of 2 colors and their transition in between; when you set a color palette, would one of the colors of the palette be the starting color of the later gradient, or would it be the in between color of the gradient, or all the colors of the gradient be part of the palette since they have an analogous relation... although I may not be using an analogous relation for the palette in general.
