  1. Rich statement coming from a Russian. Chechnya, Georgia ring any recent history bells perhaps?
  2. Nice work, well done
  3. Thanks for explaning that, I was always under the impression along with most of the English speaking world that it ment this " http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jerk - Noun. An idiot or stupid person. An insensitive, selfish, ignorant, cocky person who is inconsiderate and does stupid things."
  4. Great stuff, thanks for posting this

    Wikileaks

I'd like to think that no one wants anyone to come and any harm over this issue, although it is a valid concern. I advise watching that David Frost interview that Destro posted, as it covers almost everything that you have raised in that sentence I have quoted. Wikileaks shouldn't be viewed as being Anti US, because thats simply not the case. These leaks have come from an arm of the US government, and due to that fact, will be very US centric in their nature. Alot of governments have been caught out over what wikileaks has published. Nor is wikileaks solely the work of non-US citizens. Bradly Manning has perhaps played the most major hand in this issue by releasing this information to wikileaks. Wheather he is a patriot or a traitor is an interesting subject in itself, but I personally feel he isn't being given the credit he is due over this. I wish he could release a statement, because I'd love to hear his reasons for doing what he has done.

    Wikileaks

Binky I thought your post was great. I read the whole thing, it was insightful and I thank you for enlightening me on a side of this issue that I was failing to understand. the_Monkey, well said, couldn't agree more. Any tool that is used to make institutions such as government more accountable can only be a good thing in the long run.

    Wikileaks

I hear ya loud and clear on that one. I'm by no means a political cause junkie, although admittedly this issue I do give a shit about. I normally wouldn't post this kind of stuff anywhere near the interwebs. The only reason that I have is due to all these posts recently bemoaning about how there is no substance on this forum and its just questions on button clicking in AE and C4D. Given your response I've failed badly at attempting to change that culture.

    Wikileaks

I'm interested to hear peoples thoughts towards wikileaks. I recently changed my facebook profile pic to a photo of Mr Assange, and was promptly abused by a former good friend in the states. This guy labled me a supporter of terrorism and an ignorant asshole amoungst other abusive words. Then last night I was watching a delayed telecast of the show "The Colbert Report" that aired about 2-3 weeks ago in the states. During this show he was discussing this issue with the man who leaked the pentagon papers back in the day, and started the segment with a montage of News and Current Affairs shows, with securtiy expert after expert calling for the assination of Julian Assange and how he was a terrorist. Perhaps my former friend in the states was correct in calling me an ignorant asshole, because I simply fail to understand why Wikileaks is causing such an adverse reaction from certain parts of society. Your government lies to you, it gets caught out, and instead of being shitty at the people who have decived and lied to you(the government), you call for the death of the person who exposes this?? I don't get it.
  9. Sounds like someone needs to produce a pilot, this would give you most of the answers to the questions the network is asking. I'm amazed they gave you the time of day without having one.
  10. Stumbled across this rare jem on another site, enjoy
  11. Apologies ConstantMotion, I just re-read my previous post and realised it comes across rather negitative, and didn't stress the point enough that I liked your work, which I do. Nice to see something done locally that differs from bearcage and silversun's style.
  12. Aww my favourite sporting team, naturally I'm gonna like anything thats about them. Nice job given the tight turn around. Few things that came to mind. . Can't say I'm a fan of the tan/brown tint of the players against a white and blue colour scheme, personally i think it clashes to much. And talking of colour, I would have also added a splash of yellow into some part of it to more closely represent the brumbies corporate colours. Also I thought that your edges were to sharp on the keys/cut outs of the players, these I think would have looked better with slightly softer edges and some light spill going on. Saying that I dare say the reason for this was down to time. On a side note, was this ad done in Canberra, and if so, by whom?
  13. One eyed maya user here, nodes with definable attributes rocks!!
  14. Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian 10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours. 9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt. 8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God. 7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees! 6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky. 5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old. 4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving." 3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity. 2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God. 1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.
  15. Wow thats quite a rant, right up there with the kind of stuff the nazi's were going on about around 70 - 80 years ago about Judaism. In particular, out of all the crap that you have spewed out, I like this little gem of ignorance and fiction, "and as we all know, at the root of Islam is the belief that all non-Muslims should be killed"....Really? The whole religion is all about killing folk huh? I'm not one to let logic get in the way of a good story, however how did Islam become a religion if Mohammeds root belief was to kill all non believers? Everyone was a non believer at the inception of this religion were they not? A fantastic attempt at making up things to support your argument, pity like a majority of what you have to say its fiction. Now I suggest you go find yourself that cave somewhere in Afghanistan where they let intolerant hate filled people such as yourself run free, you would fit right in.
  16. Wow... thanks for sharing, this is the first that I have heard of this. I was just about to finish writing a post on what stupid idiots you all are for not knowing your aspect ratio's, when I decided to check the link. Now I'm feeling like the idiot! I use CS3, is it safe to assume given the title of this thread that these are indeed the new default presets in CS4? Further more does anyone know if this is just a BBC thing or is this the new pal standard?
  17. Ah righty... I did wonder if it was deliberate to force the "tug of war with the eyes". Given my previous comments on this thread, you succeeded nicely on what you set out to do.
  18. looking good mans, I like the fact that you've kept it simple and not made it "busy". Perhaps this is just me because I am tired, but I found the light blue flare above your name slightly distracting. My eye was more focused to that than your name initially. Im by no means saying get rid of it, I think it adds nicely to the sense of depth, bit its perhaps just a little to dominate. Camera moves between the name and motion reel worked nicely. As I said before, looking good mans
  19. times like these the electoral roll can be your best friend
  20. I dare say there lays your problem, you have square pixels going to rectangle pixels(tv) which would hence explain why the image is strectched on a TV, and looks fine on a computer. Adjust your pixel aspect ratio to match whatever region your in and see if that solves your problem.
  21. sorry if this has been asked before. Title says it all really, I downloaded the trail version of the trapcode plug in for learning purposes in AE. Wondering if I make something I wish to render out properly, if I could take the trapcode trail file, and then render it out in a full commercial version, would I still get the big red X that gets plastered on top of everything you render in the trail version although i rendered with a commercial version from a trail file?(if that makes any sense).
  22. Ouch mans, that sucks. Thought I might post this for anyone in Australia, who seems to be having bad luck with dodge clients who don't pay. Its for the A.C.T, but the info should be relevant regardless of which state your in (I dare say searching around the artslaw.com.au website will find the right info for which state). Its for the small claims court, which covers cost between $2000-$10000, which would cover most folk, I assume. Amounts under this I do believe you can right off on tax(somehow), amounts over $10000 are the domain of the magistraights court. www.artslaw.com.au/_documents/files/DebtRecovery_ACT.pdf The basic jist of it is, what the due process is and what you need to do, to lodge an application with the court. It also implies that you don't use a lawyer, I justify this point by this line " You may wish to be represented by a lawyer in the Court, but most people choose not to do so. Solicitors' costs are not recoverable, even if you are successful" Last time I looked at taking someone to small claims it was to cost $38 to lodge an application in the A.C.T., that was about 5 years ago now. I vaguely recall reading somewhere in the last year or so its about $60-70 these days. Anyway, hope this info helps in someway to someone. P..S. I'm happy to rant in more detail if you guys want to go legal with this Ramez guy, just ask.
