    weird TP

Thanks for always responding so quickly. Well you were correct as to why the groups were changing. I have learned my lesson, TP acting weird? Check max. visible and max particles first. Sorry for the redundant posts, no more.

    weird TP

Hello, I have a cloud scene, with a matrix object generating TP. I have also created some TP that is being mapped to the points of some geometry. Each cloud gets its own TP group, but strange things happen, and the particles in the matrix object keeping changing from their original group to different ones, must be something in my xpresso. I also included a different file where I have multiple matrix object, set up similarly, with each cloud getting its own TP group, but this time a few select particles from the original matrix object just change groups. Please help. I'm new to TP and xpresso, I'm loving the freedom, but when I come across problems like this i dont always know how to troubleshoot. 3. Thanks, douwe. Your a life saver.
  4. Thank you everyone for the suggestions, very helpful. Yeah I have recently started using xpresso for some projects, and I think I have been going a little xpresso crazy of late... Mograph could probably have done most of the work but thinking with xp can be so much more fun.
  5. Hello, I have a conveyor belt. It is animating on using mostly effectors and some scaling. The xpresso is generating the spinning tracks, which have modynamics applied to them, so that boxes can fall onto the conveyor and move down the line until they fall off. The animation is working in my editor, but when i make a preview the xpresso animation is not working. There are other posts that refer to similar problems by saying it is the priority order in the xpresso tag, but I can't seem to find the priority order solution to get this working again. Please help. The file is below... https://www.yousendit.com/download/UFhzUGhkNEhGOFN4dnc9PQ

  7. Hello, I have a "rocket". It needs to fly through a cloud, leaving a hole and scattering about some of the cloud. I am relatively new the Thinking Particles, but I made a set up that should work for my needs. ONLY...its not. The deflector node is looking changing the position of all my particles upon the event. Basically for a few frames my particles jump around then seem to come back together in a different arrangement. The only thing I can assume that could be a factor with this simple set-up is that I have my particles in a matrix object with a random effector generating the random order of clouds, and after it is deflected, it generates a new random seed? Is there a better set-up, or a solution to this problem? Please help...
  8. I will continue to answer my own question, in case there are any other newbies who might be curious. I used the actioncam with the target a null, and moved the null between the targets and the camera follows. Thanks Albert.
  9. Ok. Obviously I was hoping for a camera with interesting dynamics that could bounce from target to target. I'll just use the target camera and add my own tweaks. For future reference though, is there a way using expresso to make the CSTools ActionCam animate between targets?
  10. Mographers, I have a CSTools ActionCam Question. More specifically, is there a way, kind of like the sure target plug-in for after effects, to have a several target objects for a camera, and to move between the targets without having to manually keyframe the camera move? Action Cam has a target object, but I have yet to be able to move between two targets. Thanks.
  11. Thank you very much. Very Helpful.
  12. You are very quick to respond. I think I would approach it the same way. If time is on your side, trying rendering and uncompressed animation out of AE and use compressor to convert to mpeg-2. Then try that same convert using dvd studio pro and see which looks better. Let us know. sorry if i can't be more help.
  13. I'm still new Codecs and the render que myself. From what I understand, if your footage is interlaced, compressor will tend to over pixelate interlaced footage when it down-converts, while After Effects is much cleaner. So render out of AE with either ProRes, Lossless, or Uncompressed, and create your mpeg-2 in DVD Studio Pro. Be sure to have the Separate Fields set correctly in the Interpret Footage dialog and that you separate fields in the Render Settings as well. I hope Im answering your question.
  14. Using Cinema4D, I have an animation, whose background texture has noise applied to it to give it the look of fine paper. When I render, the noise is appears to be animated, the black dots and what-not are jumping all over the place. I tried changing the render settings in anti-aliasing, setting the filter to animation, as someone told me it might be the cameras movement that is causing the problem. Does anyone know how I could keep this noisy texture but hide or get rid of the movement? Or do you think I am better off just finding a paper texture image and applying it as the material? Thanks.
  15. Wow, this site is great. This is the perfect homepage. Thanks.
  16. I agree with everyone that the least amount of keyframes will give you the smoothest camera moves. I always used to watch Bob Ross paint his landscapes when I was a kid, and I try to remind myself of one of his philosophies of "happy accidents." Now, I don't take much that Bob Ross said seriously, but it's true, with an extra keyframe or two, you might find a better result with a happy accident. Just to keep that in mind.
  17. I just came across this problem a little more than a week ago. I resolved it by precomping my image, I then changed the rotation and set keyframes for each rotation through the timeline. Then in form, used the still frame random sampling, which just grabbed the image at different points in the timeline, where the image was angled differently. Real quick fix.
  18. my advice whenever I do text is to draw it out exactly how I want it in Illustrator and import the file as a spline. Extrude from there. Rarely does the text spline primitive in C4D work out the way I want.
