  1. Hi. I'm trying to make a feather realistically fall by keyframing the fall and then using dynamics for the subtle movement of the individual feather strands. My plan was to bake down the feathers into hair, turn on the dynamics for them so the individual feathers will have some subtle movement. Then, I'd keyframe a null object of the feathers+the spine for the fall. However, I can't seem to get the individual hairs on the feather to stay attached to the stem when I keyframe the stem to fall? I've uploaded two files. One has the feather keyed and falling similar to how I want it to fall without dynamics on. The other has dynamics attached to the individual feathers but as you will notice it is all messed up. Not sure at all how to set this up. Any help would greatly be appreciated thanks Joel H. Feather without dynamics Feather with Dynamics
  2. Which disc is the the rigging tutorial on? My broadcast edition came with three discs..."goodies and extras", broadcast extension kit, and installation." Can't seem to find the material?
  3. Yeah, Im finding it pretty difficult thus far. Thank you for the advice. I will definitely check out you all's suggestions. Joel
  4. Hey, I'm trying to setup a rig from scratch based on "the Red Guy rig" (from the c4dcafe forum). Specifically, I'm having trouble setting up the controls for my rig. I can't seem to emulate the red guy rig right. For instance when I grab the whole character it moves around like a rag doll instead of in one piece??? Also, I set up some poles for the elbows and knees but they don't do anything??? Attached is a copy of the "red Guy Rig" file as well as my rig file. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Ive been fighting with this for over a week! Thanks Red Guy Rig (generic-rig.c4d): http://joelhebert.co...generic-rig.c4d My Rig (generic rig-16.c4d): http://joelhebert.co...eric-rig-16.c4d I am using C4D 11.5 Broadcast Edition w/the advanced renderer (no mocca) Joel H. joelhebert.com
  5. Hi. After much turmoil, I have finally managed to make a water splash simulation in blender then export it successfully into C4D using and Xref object to load each individual .obj (http://paengpaeng.com/2008/09/blender-fluids-in-cinema-4d-t he-next-step/). However, I need to texture the xref object with a liquid shader in c4d. The only way to do this is to edit each scene one by one(i.e, go into each obj and apply the texture frame by frame). Is there a way to apply a texture universally to the xref object to affect all the meshes universally? Thanks Joel H.
  6. I am having problems setting up an IK Rig in C4D. Once I bind the rig to the mesh and move the goals, it completely ruins the mesh. I've tried experimenting painting the weight but that doesn't seem to do the trick? Here are some illustrations of what's happening Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Joel H. I am using C4D 11.5 w/ mograph 2 module and advanced renderer module

  8. Hi. Im trying to create a an effect where some 3D letters are filling up similar to the way a syringe fills up from the bottom to the top? How would I go about doing this in Cinema4D? Any help would be great? Thanks Joel H.
  9. Hi. I am trying to model and build a medical cross section of blood pumping through a vein. I know this has been done a lot in 3D so I'm sure there are several ways to do it. I have mograph 2 and c4d 11. Details: -The valve must open and close (not even sure how to model the valve??????) - The vein starts out opaque and turns semi-transparent to where one can peak inside (see picture on right) - The vein will have an inner wall that slowly fades away as the animation goes through -the vein will clog at one point and the whole thing will bulge -the vein will have red blood cells running through it (Pump action? Not sure how to approach this?) Please see the attached picture (the one on the right) to get a better view of the viewing angle etc. http://joelhebert.com/wp-content/upload ... ture-2.png Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Joel H.

  11. Here is my scenario. I've tracked a camera and an object seperately in Syntheyes (similar setup to the this tutorial...http://ssontech.com/content/boxmatch.htm) Problem is, once I'm in Cinema4D, I can't seem to import that mesh sequence. It only gives me an animation sequence of the trackers paths of the Syntheyes tracked object (a null object)? I can import the mesh as an obj. but its motion path is not animated? Tech support told me I need to parent the imported mesh onto the tracking points in C4D. However, this has given me some rather strange results. I'm pretty confident I tracked the shot well so I'm assuming this is an issue with the way I'm working with the file in C4D. SO.....Could someone please share the proper workflow for Syntheyes to C4D with a shot with a moving object and a moving camera? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Joel H. joelhebert.com

  14. Also, What dictates the motion of the camera once I make a solve? I get a lot of solves with camera paths that are really strange looking and I know that is not how that camera moved in real life? what is a good way to judge that I've completed a good track other than simply making sure the hpix is error is below .5?
  15. Hi, I am learning match moving with syntheyes right now. I have a few questions that someone maybe able to answer: 1.Can I track footage in multiple parts? 2.How do I fix "bad frames" other than deleting them? 3.What does the flex/curve panel do? 4.What are blips? 4.What does peel mean? Thanks JH
