  1. Find a comfortable seat because this is going to be a long one, but I cover a lot of material here that you should find useful. Not only does this episode cover Thinking Particles to create the spark coming off of the ball being dragged, but I take you through how to completely rig a car with dynamics. Also I will show you how to create a dynamic spline that will be attached to that dynamic car as well as how to rig the dynamic metal ball to follow that spline. Confusing? Complicated? Follow along and I will take you through each step in the process!   3. Tutorial 02 - Controlling Particle Emissions In this tutorial I contintue on my quest to share what I am learning of the Thinking Particle system within Cinema4D.   4. This is the first of a new series I am beginning. I am making my way through Thinking Particles and I plan to share what I learn along the way. As the title implies, this is a simple introduction to the basics. In this tutorial I will begin to walk you through the Thinking Particle system in Cinema4D. I will begin by comparing its structure to the standard particle emitter, and then walk you through a basic setup.   5. Thanks for the feedback guys! I already have a different version in the works. The original plan with the room/robot was, as you mentioned a bit distracting, but I had some time constraints and instead of re-working it...went with the work I had already put into it. I agree that it works best as an intro piece and there will be a version soon to reflect that...because I am not totally happy with it as it sits. As for the work presented, I work full-time for a somewhat conservative company, so much of what I do gets "dialed back". I am currently building a library of personal projects which will grow exponentially as time passes. As for the environment being a template...nope, all modeled and animated by me. Marc Pearson - Motion Design Reel 2012 https://vimeo.com/44688380 It is long overdue, and I am sure that there is more that I will want to add to it in the future, but hot off the render is my 2012 Demo Reel! All of the work seen here was done by me using a combination of Adobe Premiere, Adobe AfterEffects and Cinema 4D. Two of the pieces, the NASDAQ video board and the Reuters video board, won Telly Awards in 2011 and ran for two weeks live in Times Square. Some of the work seen in this reel was done by me for Realpage, a software development company based in Carrollton, Texas. I currently work full-time for them as Senior Mulimedia Video Developer. The remaining work was done for my productions company, Footprint Productions. I hope you enjoy the reel and I welcome feedback, comments and critique.   12. Well here it is...PyDeform v3.0! You spoke and I listened! Now you have three built-in layouts to choose from, making PyDeform extremely flexible. Choose between the Default, Horizontal or Vertical layout options and dock PyDeform in your interface! You still get all of the power and convenience as before, but now you have the choice to dock it anywhere!   13. Hey florio, Thanks for the mention PyBend is just a simple "do one thing" script, whereas PyDeform is a full plugin with MUCH more capability. Instead of the 5 deformers standard with EasyDeformer, PyDeform it comes with 25 total and since it is a plugin...it docks well into the Object Manager tab group(doesn't disappear when you add one deformer). PyDeform also allows the user to pick the orientation of the deformer and update the orientation/size on the fly. I am currently working on Version 3.0 that will hopefully be even more user friendly. Anyway...thanks again for the mention!
  14. I remember a presentation of yours being one of the first c4d videos I ever watched...only been using c4d for maybe 2.5 to 3 years. I am sure that you could code circles around me! I have only been coding/scripting for c4d for about 2 months. I took it on as a personal challenge for growth because I saw the power that you could have. PyDeform began as a simple script to make my workflow easier and then evolved into something I thought would be able to help the community as well. Anyway, I am taking your suggestions to heart and looking for ways to make PyDeform even better If I run into a Python snag I may give you a shout

  16. I had thought about that yes...but I was way too deep into the code to want to go back and restructure. I am compiling a list of updates for the next version. I will definitely give this some more thought and see if there is a way to integrate this kind of functionality without a complete redo I am relying on the community and the users to provide the roadmap from here on out. If there is something they wish it would do...and if it is feasible to implement...then I will do my best to get those implemented in an upcoming version release.   19. Chris, You can add the deformers until you get tired of clicking the button. The plugin places each newly created deformer as the first child of the parent, thus leaving the creative stacking and order of operations to the user. The goal is to place the deformer with its parent for you to save time. The deformer takes on the size of the object you have selected when you add it. If you have something that you have deformed and you then want to deform that resulting shape, the best way would be to convert it to an object with the "Current state to object" command and then continue to stack your new deformers. PyDeform will work on anythying that has a referencable size to it...primitive, polygonal objects, metaballs, cloners, Matrix obejcts etc. However, it does not work on splines and arrays.   21. Hey guys! The overall response to my free script was great and I certainly appreciate that! I just put the finishing touches on the plugin version that adds more functionality. PyDeform is a Cinema 4D Plugin I developed to increase your efficiency and speed up your workflow. The goal is to identify the tedious and repetitive tasks that take up your time...and automate them!   22. frankybouba, very true. I have built them in Xpresso but didn't like that solution in the long run for a couple of reasons. Keeping up with Xpresso tag presets. Also, python gives more flexibility on the development side to add more functionality on top of the core functions. There have been also some COFFEE scripts in this style that just found. I tested them and they each have their limitations as well. I think the plugin form will, in the end, provide a much easier and intuitive interface for the user. Btw, I am totally open to suggestions for improvements or possible features.
  23. vozzz I totally agree on the trust thing. I not only have improvements planned for this, but will have other free stuff coming too. BTW...the file is public now with option to register left to the user.
