    Lighting Artist

While maintaining best practices and delivery expectations, you will spend your days: demonstrating proactive involvement for continual improvements in skills and workflow effectively economizing and managing renders while achieving required quality monitoring, controlling, prioritizing and delivering tasks demonstrating effective time management, organization and production skills You must have: 6+ years work experience in visual effects in feature film and television a strong balance between artistic and technical skill, with thorough understanding of VFX workflow proficiency with Renderman and Katana advanced understanding of physically plausible shading and rendering the ability to assemble temp comps of the lighting passes in Nuke In addition, the following requirements are considered nice-to-have as well: knowledge of Maya and other renderers.   2. As the Desktop Systems Administrator, you will support the workstation IT infrastructure of the studio providing capability for 180+ artists and developers working on award winning Film and TV visual effects & VR projects.
 Our primary workstation platform is CentOS 7. As the Nuke TD you will be supporting the studio’s 2D Compositing, Editorial and Matte Painting departments. You will be working with the Department TDs and creative team to ensure shots can be delivered to the very highest standard. You will: maintain and support custom tools/templates/scripts, both creative and pipeline, for the 2d team (Editorial, Compositing, Matte Painting) under the direction of the Compositing Supervisor and Lead Compositors. work in conjunction with Editors/Matte Painters/Compositors to effectively problem solve, acting as a first line of support for all workflow & productivity issues within the 2d team. identify issues to prioritize for Systems / Pipeline / Vendor response & support where appropriate. work with the Compositing Supervisor and Lead Compositors to identify area of innovation and automation. Develop new tools to support individual shot production and general workflow.     CG Supervisor

As CG Supervisor, you will collaborate with the studio’s leadership team to determine and manage the goals of our projects. Working closely with supervisors across all departments, you will spend your days: ensuring the creation high quality visual effects setting clear objectives to CG departments, and monitoring their process, progress and results briefing developers on R&D and pipeline requirements determining, modifying, and maintaining the most effective and efficient technical approach and workflow possible solving day-to-day issues, along with TDs, and pro-actively eliminating potential problems in pipeline tools before they impact production assisting and supervising the artists in achieving all technical aspects of production designing and implementing the technical, artistic pipeline and workflow mentoring team members and reviewing their work, ensuring high standard results collaborating with Creative Resources to define recruiting goals You must have: 5 years of work experience as a supervisor in a film/TV previous experience with team management and recruitment excellent Maya skills including a good understanding of modelling, texturing, look development, lighting and colour, particles, fluids, and dynamics excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills a thorough understanding of the visual effects process and the ability to interpret the artistic brief from the VFX Supervisors a technical understanding of CG pipelines proven team leadership, strong motivational skills, and willingness to share knowledge The following are also considered an asset: a degree in computer science, math, or engineering knowledge of Phyton scripting considered a strong asset working knowledge of Katana, experience with RenderMan and/or Arnold is an asset If this sounds like you, please send your reel and resume to Careers@spinvfx.com.
