Hey oeuf, Thanks for the reply and the encouragement. I am not fresh to the field, just to freelancing in the U.S. I recently moved to NYC from Tel Aviv. We do things differently there... I guess I am in for a ride. :-) You've been very helpful. Thanks.

Thanks so much for the response oeuf. I wish I could carry my own workstation with me everywhere... I think producers should realize that freelancers would be a lot more productive working with their own machines in their familiar surroundings. I got to say I am a little discouraged by what people are saying. never the less I am willing to try... I guess you can always assess the job according to what the client wants and what the office has to offer in terms of tools, and then decide if you want to take the job. Thank you all for the help.

Thank you all for the responses-- guys, you have been a great help! One other concern I have is the hardware and the software (plugins etc). I have a fast machine with the most up to date software and plugins. I am concerned about working in an office with slower machines with not updated software. Is this common and what's the take on bringing your plugins from home? Thank you!

Hi guys, I am a freelancer new to NYC. I have a question: Is most freelance work here done onsite or from home? I am sensing a trend towards onsite. Why is that? I would appreciate any response. Thanks.

Really nice style and excellent execution! It's amazing that as an artist when you look at other people work you think you have a clue on how much work was done and you do have some clue, But when you see a making of movie you really see the effort and the sisyphean work that was put into it.
