  1. Wow, really disappointing to here that... Also just realized his site looks really similar to Danny Yount's http://dannyyount.com/ Background I mean. I'm pretty sure he's the same exact gray color lol edit... his Linkedin page looks stacked https://www.linkedin.com/in/onassisteli...... O.o
  2. Just got into World Machine and DEM Earth. Both are equally amazing but for different reasons. I've only used DEM Earth if I need a landscape really quickly especially if it had to resemble somewhere on Earth. It was especially helpful building quick cities too. However, there isn't much room for going beyond the landscape it gives you. If you wanted a landscape more custom, it was just easier to do it in World Machine.
  3. But then why put that on your portfolio if you know you blatantly ripped someone off? Yeah I see vocal designers on twitter call out people who've copied them, but I feel like that just brings so much attention to you and I'm not sure I'd want that. I wonder if there is anything legal you can do but I'm guessing it'll be pretty hard to prove anything / not worth the time? Interesting article though, thanks for the share. haha Rip-Ception That's crazy. It's like the whole glitch thing all over again when VideoCopilet released that Twitch plugin. Suddenly everyone had the same glitchy animations. simonfarussell, on 11 Mar 2016 - 08:13 AM, said: Lol I'd love to know how that woman could feel justified enough to get angry at you...
  4. So I stumbled across this portfolio http://www.onassisteli.com/E-NEWSand noticed the design AND animations look super familiar to the FITC Tokyo Titles. It's pretty obvious this guy was "inspired" by those titles but when is the line drawn? As an aspiring motion designer Is there anything you can do when you see this happening? I'm just generally curious if you guys have been in similar situations. edit: Just to clarify I had nothing to do with the FITC Tokyo Titles, I'm just using this as an example.
  5. Hi guys, so for the past few years I've been struggling with a shitty old AMD PC setup and finally have money rolling in. I'm currently working on projects that require AE, C4D, and especially Octane. (This setup will be primarily an Octane rig). I've been doing a ton of research but have never actually built a PC before, so I'm definitely going to need some help. Below is the current rig I was thinking of, but am totally open for other suggestions. 6. Thanks AromaKat! Really appreciate the kind words! I'm currently in my 3rd year at the School of Visual Arts in NY.
  7. Just finished this for class. We had to illustrate one of the worst days we could think of. Music is by Pilot Priest http://vimeo.com/108403491
  8. I've never animated letterforms before, and I gotta say it's pretty damn fun. I only have ABC (working on the rest right now) What do you guys think so far? https://vimeo.com/86210125
  9. Thanks so much for the feedback RVA8. Much appreciated. I'm definitely going to go back in there and change up the colors a bunch. I was afraid that if I kept my sequences too long, it'd get boring. I'll play with the pacing though. I do have a question, how would you feel if during each consoles transition, I played a song/sound effects from a popular game of that era? Do you think that would take away from the animation? I chose the Flying Lotus song because it gave off that tech/gaming vibe too me.
  10. I just finished this animation today. Thought I'd share here for some opinions on it. Started as an experiment to learn AE, and just kept going with it.
  11. Hey guys! I currently live in NYC, but my wife has been wanting to move down south for a very very long time. (Around Georgia, North Carolina, Florida etc). I know a BIG portion of the industry is in LA, and NY, but I was wondering if there is any hope for me down south. Are there any mograph users on here that are working down south?? And how is it?
  12. Thanks! I use BG Renderer all the time, and I never knew about it... for shame Do you know the name of the app by any chance??
  13. I was wondering if there was an app, or something that would send a text message to your phone after a render in After Effects was finished. Me and a buddy were talking about this earlier, and couldn't find anything. However, on a tumblr blog we did see this: http://psql.me/image/49374088201 If an app doesn't exist, it totally should, just sayin What do you guys think?
