  1. Wow - I've read the news article, but will read the essay a bit later on. It certainly makes you think if what you're doing is really worth it. I'm totally over the whole "I stayed up for x days straight to get the project done" bravado. That's just unhealthy, not to mention detrimental to productivity. I have a 6 month old daughter which has forced me to re-evaluate my approach so that I can balance work and family time better. It's amazing how much she's changed in such a short time and to be frank, I've missed a lot of it. I know I can't be there for every single second - we have bills to pay and mouths to feed, but the harsh reality is I'll never get that time back, so it's important to make the most of it. I'm tracking my time at work and on tasks and trying to leave the office at 6ish each day. At home and weekends I'm trying to not do any work. Not even turn my laptop on. If anyone has any tips for work/life balance, why not post them below and we can all learn them.
  2. Thanks for the heads up! Downloaded for Mac and giving it a try.
  3. I came across this old thread via http://www.bendingpixels.com/bp-10/resources.html and have now mapped the expressions to TextExpander snippets!
  4. Parts 2 and 3 are online now! Part 2 focuses on modelling the 'hero' elements of our scene; the cabin, tree and log. Part 3 focuses on texturing the 'hero' elements of our scene.

 Thanks for watching,
  5. In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a winter scene in Cinema 4D using the new Magic Snow plugin from Nitroman. Part 1 focuses on using the Magic Snow plugin including some ways to customise it and working within its limitations. Thanks for watching, Andy
  6. New tutorial coming very soon... here's a preview. http://vimeo.com/33342188 Inspired by the fantastic new plugin, Magic Snow from Nitroman. Get the plugin here: http://nitro4d.com/b...bie/magic-snow/
  7. Tutorial 6 - Installing & upgrading NitroBlast for C4D EDIT: At the request of Lazaros, aka nitroman, this video is now private. It is viewable in the Nitro4D donators' login area. 8. Would love to start using this, but the download link appears to be broken!
  9. Tutorial 5 - Useful Scripts and Tips http://vimeo.com/30851937 This is a follow on to Chris Schmidt's excellent tutorial on how he customises the interface to speed up working in Cinema 4D. In this tutorial I show you my Python scripts for adding XPresso and Sound to Cinema quickly. I'm still tweaking the sound script for 100% automation. Please feel free to open them up in the script editor and learn! If you have any suggestions, let me know. UPDATE I've made a slight update to Create Sound Null which copies the path of the file to the clipboard eliminating the cut step - just paste into the file field and hit return! Thanks for watching, Andy Links Get the scripts here! (R12 & R13 tested) cl.ly/1P2Q0u3E0C1v1V3A2843 Chris's tutorial - vimeo.com/30750255 Subscribe to the tutorials channel - vimeo.com/channels/imcalledandytuts Follow me on Twitter - twitter.com/imcalledandy I'd like to thank Rick Barrett from Maxon for helping me get started with Python scripting and for showing me some pointers at NAB.
