  1. I don't know if you have access to Nuke, but looks like the new smart vector paint tool would be a perfect solution. I used it twice , it takes some time to calculate the motion vector pass but it worked great both time.
  2. Hopefully the cache will work better. I keep having ghost frames with layers that don't even exist in my comp. even after purging all memory , cleaning all cache from my computer and restarting. Really weird. Anyway, Todd thank you so much for all the good years you spent being so active in the community, talking to users especially on this forum.   4. I go for inspiration. It's mostly the music and it's not like this music is new and never used before either. Animation is really different imho and yours is better.
  5. You can use the linear function in your expression. It does exactly what you want linear(0,360,0,100) will map 360 degrees to 0-100 for exemple
  6. Thanks for the tut. Although, if on your each channel you shift the other ones to full off, and choose add as compositing mode, you'll have the same result without the need of tint effect. Saving time.

Here is what I did : 1/ offset your animation One frame 2 Copy and paste your last keyframe to frame 0 (just for initializing the texture) 3/ on frame zero fur off your fix texture and turn it back to straight. all done.   13. your question is confusing, What do you want to do with your xScale? In your expression, the scale X is not linked to your expression Slider. You just add 6 to it's current value. I don't know what you really want to do with xScale. But the best way to work with 2 parameters (Array) in after effects will be to split them in 2 different variable xAdj=value[0]; /// value[0] is the first parameter so ScaleX; yAdj=value[1]; /// value[1] is the second parameter so ScaleY; [xAdj,yAdj]; It's just more clear. your expression will look like this xAdj=value[0]+6; yAdj = thisComp.layer("Null 1").effect("Slider Control")("Slider"); yResult=value[1]+Math.max(yAdj,1); [xAdj,yResult] Guessing what you want is your xScale to be your yScale + 6. You need to first set yScale and then pass it to xScale, something like this yAdj = thisComp.layer("Null 1").effect("Slider Control")("Slider"); yResult=value[1]+Math.max(yAdj,1); [yResult+6,yResult]
  14. There is no layerSize parameter on a text layer, only numnberOfCharacter. If your font has a fix letter width, you can do some math like position - ((numberOfCharacter*characterWidth)/ 2).

  17. I take any progress in roto. That's such a annoying painful stage of any work. Rotobrush could work, but ht few times I tried to use it took me as long as a manual roto and always need additional manual shapes. I'm looking forward for any improvement . Thanks Todd.

  22. 30 seconds manually. you don't need your rectangle. 1/convert yout spline to editable 2/set first vertex to inside points for each 3/ uncheck close spline and delete the point 4/ select both spline and connect object 5/ select points and joint segments. ## even faster, just use 2 Arc spline with 180°
  23. I had exactly the same problem few weeks ago, and the only solution I found was the same as your, duplicate light. So maybe that's it.
