  1. I don't know if you have access to Nuke, but looks like the new smart vector paint tool would be a perfect solution. I used it twice , it takes some time to calculate the motion vector pass but it worked great both time.
  2. Hopefully the cache will work better. I keep having ghost frames with layers that don't even exist in my comp. even after purging all memory , cleaning all cache from my computer and restarting. Really weird. Anyway, Todd thank you so much for all the good years you spent being so active in the community, talking to users especially on this forum. I don't know where you're heading to, but I wish you the best and again Thank you !!! Ben
  3. http://www.mtmograph.com/motion/ That's my favorite one for Ae. Never used the curve editor since I installed this script. KItkats. Tell me more about what you'd like in C4d.
  4. I go for inspiration. It's mostly the music and it's not like this music is new and never used before either. Animation is really different imho and yours is better.
  5. You can use the linear function in your expression. It does exactly what you want linear(0,360,0,100) will map 360 degrees to 0-100 for exemple
  6. Thanks for the tut. Although, if on your each channel you shift the other ones to full off, and choose add as compositing mode, you'll have the same result without the need of tint effect. Saving time.

    GM FoldLayers

It was a free script. I won't give it like this otherwise.

  9. Thank you for all the good tips!! and thank you for your great Octane review.
  10. Here is what I did : 1/ offset your animation One frame 2 Copy and paste your last keyframe to frame 0 (just for initializing the texture) 3/ on frame zero fur off your fix texture and turn it back to straight. all done. (Note that you have to render this extra frame. ) here is your modified file (R14 sorry) http://cl.ly/QKKZ
  11. I remember seeing thus yader video. Thanks for the tips vozzz !!
  12. link your scale ti you Y posisition with a linear function to clamp your Y position to 70 and 100 for the scale like this temp = thisComp.layer("yourSolid").transform.position[1]; temp2=linear(temp,0,1080,70,100); [temp2, temp2]
  13. your question is confusing, What do you want to do with your xScale? In your expression, the scale X is not linked to your expression Slider. You just add 6 to it's current value. I don't know what you really want to do with xScale. But the best way to work with 2 parameters (Array) in after effects will be to split them in 2 different variable xAdj=value[0]; /// value[0] is the first parameter so ScaleX; yAdj=value[1]; /// value[1] is the second parameter so ScaleY; [xAdj,yAdj]; It's just more clear. your expression will look like this xAdj=value[0]+6; yAdj = thisComp.layer("Null 1").effect("Slider Control")("Slider"); yResult=value[1]+Math.max(yAdj,1); [xAdj,yResult] Guessing what you want is your xScale to be your yScale + 6. You need to first set yScale and then pass it to xScale, something like this yAdj = thisComp.layer("Null 1").effect("Slider Control")("Slider"); yResult=value[1]+Math.max(yAdj,1); [yResult+6,yResult]
  14. There is no layerSize parameter on a text layer, only numnberOfCharacter. If your font has a fix letter width, you can do some math like position - ((numberOfCharacter*characterWidth)/ 2).
  15. YO, just open the blend parameter in Tag Properties and you have your curve editor
  16. Bad news for element 3D. This looks super helpful for mockup at least. a few more stuff here http://success.adobe.com/en/na/programs/events/1303_30759_nab.html?sdid=KEYJL
  17. I take any progress in roto. That's such a annoying painful stage of any work. Rotobrush could work, but ht few times I tried to use it took me as long as a manual roto and always need additional manual shapes. I'm looking forward for any improvement . Thanks Todd.
  18. http://www.maxon.net/en/news/singleview-default/article/-e4cb4bd0e8.html MAXON ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH ADOBE® MAXON Announces Strategic Alliance with Adobe to Bring Creative Professionals New Levels of Digital Media Content Creation. FRIEDRICHSDORF, GERMANY — March 19, 2013 — MAXON, the developer of CINEMA 4D, a leading 3D animation software for film, broadcast and motion graphics professionals, today announced it has entered into a strategic alliance with Adobe Systems Incorporated to further collaborate on technology that provides creatives in the motion graphics and visual effects industry with new levels of digital media content creation. As part of the alliance, both companies are expected to collaborate and engineer a pipeline between Adobe® After Effects® software and CINEMA 4D to give users a seamless 2D/3D foundation. "CINEMA 4D is a leading 3D solution, and the one After Effects users have come to know and love because of its ease-of-use, speed, stability and especially tight integration with the 2D compositing application," said Harald Egel, co-founder and CEO, MAXON Computer GmbH. "We look forward to continued collaboration between our programming and marketing teams to ensure that the interoperability of our software products makes a positive impact on artists seeking to easily and fully integrate 3D into their production pipelines." "Adobe After Effects has a 20-year history of setting the standard for motion graphics and visual effects software," said Steve Forde, senior product manager for After Effects at Adobe. "Collaborating with a market leader in 3D graphics programming like MAXON will further accelerate how After Effects users create rich engaging experiences." Please visit Steve Forde's blog for more information about today’s announcement. My first reaction is that I stop thinking about developing a script to easily update an Ae comp after changes in C4d project : automatically update camera, lights, layers parented to nulls etc... Or maybe I should still do it Any thoughts or Expectations guys !!! Cheers!
  19. Hi, you should give a link to your scene for us to have a better understanding. But so far, taking your post step by step : 1 : Grid Coner 2: Random Effector with a sphere fall off for thee hole 3: Spline Effector with your spline looks like a sinus wave 4 : Plain effector with a linear effector animated left to right to make them form the wall 4b: Shader effector with a gradient

  21. Use the index property of your PPass node and some math with the Time node as this : http://cl.ly/Mkc5 Enjoy
  22. 30 seconds manually. you don't need your rectangle. 1/convert yout spline to editable 2/set first vertex to inside points for each 3/ uncheck close spline and delete the point 4/ select both spline and connect object 5/ select points and joint segments. ## even faster, just use 2 Arc spline with 180°
  23. I had exactly the same problem few weeks ago, and the only solution I found was the same as your, duplicate light. So maybe that's it.
