    Joe The Plumber?

Here's a piece of advice I was given as a child. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers".

The scientific method can only be used to answer scientific questions. I'm no fan of the Pope or Catholicism but they do study more than just science in their quest for what the Truth is. Use the scientific method to discover why you love the people close to you. The answer is something like: It's a product of the evolutionary process. WRONG. Not the wrong answer. It's the wrong tool.
  3. If you have a bunch of computers that aren't being used overnight and you have heavy scenes to render, it's a must-have module. It is a little clunky in its old age but still works well enough.

"I don't know why it's so hard to accept that our personalities are made up of electrical/chemical signals" C.Smith The problem I have with that statement is it implies I don't exist. A personality must have a degree of independence. Electrical/chemical signals are purely reactive. They can't be traced back to anything other than external influences. To say "we" exist in these electrical/chemical signals is no less faith-based than to say God exists. If I get drunk and my personality changes, how was that which changed ever a part of me? I might as well identify myself with any arbitrary chemical reaction. It could be said we are "persons" because our particular pattern of electrical/chemical signals is unique in the Universe. This is true but "we" didn't create them. Everything "we" think and feel is a product of external influences. I've come to two conclusions. Both are unacceptable to me. 1. The "electrical/chemical" which I can't accept because it goes against my irresistible need to see myself as a person. 2. There is no "person". The Universe functions in such a way that evolution is inevitable. In the pattern that forms the Earth, evolution functions best when the replicating patterns identify themselves as "separate" (i.e. have a personality to protect) from the environment. This is also unacceptable for the same reason as above. tl;dr shit creek, no paddle.

No Christmas presents for Atheist. This could be a deal breaker.
  6. Thanks for the link. Up to now my colour management in After Effects has been "turn it off". I'm in for some worthwhile reading.
  7. "CINEMA 4D R10 Architectural Edition is a specialized version of MAXON's flagship application aimed squarely at architectural professionals who need to create stylized or photo-realistic visualizations. The product offers a "seamless connectivity" to Allplan, ArchiCAD and VectorWorks -- all major architectural CAD products owned by German parent company Nemetschek AG." Looks like Maxon is an integral part of their business.
  8. Damn commies bastards have already overrun the state of Georgia. http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/0...etia/index.html
  9. Have you asked any liberals those questions or are you just assuming that's how they would react based on your sterotype?
  10. Why does everyone say Obama is black? I thought he was 50/50.
  11. I like it. Good content and best of all a simple interface.
  12. Comparing the world voting map to the US voting map it's obvious Amercians should have their voting rights revoked for the sake of global stability.

10-15 minutes works great for me. Any longer and I end up more tired than when I started. Slightly off topic......I brought a Rancillio Silva expresso machine (hand made Italian, but cheap). Soooooo good for when I need a boost.
  19. I don't have a link to my work. I've been an employee for the last 3 years so I haven't bothered keeping my showreel up to date. Income tax is around 39%. Add the other taxes and we pay around 50% in tax total. You won't have any problems taking care of your family. There are generous tax rebates for working people who have children. It's just you wouldn't have the same amount of disposable income. Average incomes are about 30% less than Australia.
  20. Auckland. I'm not a fan of gail force winds.
  21. I do motion graphics in New Zealand. If you have skills we want and can speak English, you should get in without too much fuss. There is always stong demand for motion graphic artists with excellent skills. Judging by the quality of the work you linked, you would be in demand. If you want to move here for the natural beauty and relaxed life style you'll be happy. But be prepared to accept a large drop in your income. New Zealand has a small economy and reasonbly high living costs.
