I'm an LA based artist with over 10 years of experience who loves to work. I've worn many hats in the creative world and I'm a firm believer in making myself valuable to employers and therefore I'm constantly working to keep my skill set up to date.
I currently work in both 3D and 2D productions tools and I have both game and film experience. My work ranges from creating a animations and motion graphics to directing and editing commercials and trailers. I've also created ui designs and marketing material for several iPhone games and web apps.
Some of my clients include Disney/ABC Studios, the Black Eyed Peas, Thinkwell Design and Productions, Gradient Effects, and Inhance Digital.
1. Hey everyone, With 3D printing becoming more and more popular these days I decided to make a tutorial from one of my most recent experiments with the 3D printer. In this tutorial I'll show you how to model an alien space craft in Cinema 4D then take it into Makerbot’s Makerware software to create a 3D print. You can checkout the tutorial here. Hope you enjoy this tutorial and let us know what you think and if you have any questions.
2. Started experimenting with some low poly animations for a Halloween motion graphic piece that would wrap around an entire store, about 56,000+ pixels wide. So far I'm really enjoying the style and look of the low poly effect. Thoughts? I posted more images and motion examples here.
3. Hey fellow mographers, I added a bunch of new video tutorials to my new site, enjoy!
4. Haha, yeah that seems to be everyone's favorite part. If you look really closely you can see him playing against the witch on the other side of the store. I put his avatar in the TV.
5. Hey Fellow Mographers! I wanted to share a motion graphic piece I designed and animated for the Microsoft Store's panoramic video wall. It's a Halloween theme with animated ghosts and vampires playing with different products in a fun fall environment. The video wall in the store consists of multiple LCD monitors lined up together creating an extremely widescreen viewing experience for the customer. The final combined resolution of the video piece was 57000 x 1080 pixels. If there's a Microsoft Store nearby go check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks. : ) Ryan Boyle Sketchy Pictures
6. Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorials! It's not problem at all to share what I've learned so far, I'm just doing my part in helping out our design community! : )
7. Hey everyone, I just finished writing a tutorial based off of a design concept I made while directing the Kari Kimmel music video "Trouble" a while back. The original concept was going to be more of a retro effect but we changed it to a noire look after doing some tests. Here you go, hope you guys have fun with this one: Create a Retro Music Video Effect in After Effects -Ryan
8. Awesome, thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated!
9. Yikes, sorry to hear that. But thanks in advance for taking the time to watch the tutorials.
10. Hi Everyone, I wanted to post some of my recent shorts I created using Illustrator and After Effects. Each one was created in under a week. The goal was to get better and faster at my craft so I limited myself to creating a new animation each week, think of it as animation gesture drawing. : ) You can view some of my shorts below, I look forward to any feedback or critiques. I also created several tutorials on how to create a cartoon using illustrator and after effects. It covers designing the characters, walk cycle, animating with expressions, lip syncing, lighting, and cameras. Thanks and enjoy! -Ryan Assassin's Creed 3: Over Logging Assassin's Creed 3: Over Logging Behind The Scenes Ghost Rider: The Later Years Total Eclipse Bleach vs the Sixth Sense SketchyPictures.com
