  1. Oh! I didn't know there was a Slack channel, I will join! thanks for the response Aaron, we need to catch up soon!
  2. Hey guys, I'm working on a personal project and looking to gather some information regarding how you manage animation projects. I put together a quick form to gather this information easier and would be amazing if you could take a few minutes to go through it. Link to form: http://goo.gl/forms/D91A6f2Ypo Greatly appreciate it and thanks in advance!! Ivan
  3. hey there Aaron, I saw a post that you wrote a while back and thought... small world this is
  4. Hey thanks that was a really good reply, I told him it was a title sequence but you're right there was not a lot of direction, I was thinking that we could start by making some boards and then this could scalade into more thought out briefs, like the ones you would get from an agency or a client. I will definitively take all this in consideration for the next round of this Thanks for your time!
  5. Hi all, I currently started handing out styleframe creation assignments to one of my good mates. He's a really good illustrator (in my opinion) and needs some guidance since he wants to get into motion design and animation. I thought that getting him to start making some styleframes with a few given limitations would be a good place for him to start, I posted the results of the first assignment on my blog. http://shiftsave.com/projects/styleframe-assignments-week-1 I would love to hear what you guys think.

  7. I think it look great overall, I think the camera needs some tweaking, I find it a bit too jerky, and could use a little bit of motion between the big camera moves, also if you had a depth map with a lens blur it would add a bit more depth to the piece.
  8. Hi guys, just finished this piece about Sustainable Architecture, I want to build a site with more in-depth information about it, and how it can help the environment, so I'm thinking I could use this video as a teaser or something like that. I started this on my spare time and after a few days the studio I work at, SEQUENCE gave me a couple of weeks to complete it. Hope you like it, Ivan
  9. I like your work, I agree with silatix on the usage of type, I like the fact that you skinned your player to match your colors, little details in consistency is something I've seen a lot of designers are missing on their sites/reels nowadays. I am a bit concerned about the red background it's a little distracting in my opinion, just a thought. Good work!
  10. Hey Rudy, your work looks great, your site needs some work, I think you need separation between the projects, right now it's too busy for me to focus on any of the projects, if you want to achieve the grid-look you need a less-busy regular state and you can use the screenshots you have as rollover states. That will also speed up your site because right now you're using a full-size image and that takes a little while to load. Also think a little bit about consistency, if your video player has yellow highlights, try to integrate that on your overall composition, maybe the rollover state for the buttons can be yellow. Hope this helps, Ivan
  11. No, I don't like using stuff that I didn't shot or made, unless they're stock photo or video, besides I'm not continuing this video, I might make a v2 fro scratch in a year after I graduate and I do know how to use AE properly.
  12. Well OK yes, my concept was to make an experimental video to learn how to use photoshop, and my style or aesthetic choice was the ink
  13. Thanks for the comments, I agree with pretty much all of you guys, the thing is that my AE level is only beginner, and I had only a few weeks to finish this along with other projects, there's no real concept behind this project, Its an experimental reel, I started with the concept of Ink, I was gonna do organic effects but I lacked time to do so, altough even though I know it lacks on movement I'm still pretty happy with the result due my lack of technical skills, I haven't even started AE classes yet, I only had an introduction to it, so I was doing it as I was learning... Ohh, and Silatix, the concept started as a travel from the birth of the ink, to whats inside, and so on, like a trip around it, at least that was my styleboard like, but then I started facing a lot of time consumers that I didn't have, trying to achieve those effects. I might continue that idea when I'm more skilled though. Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it... PS. I change the name of the post, I thought reel meant any video and demo reel a copilation of videos...

A good compression would be Quicktime 7.0 H.264 Web Stream, it compresses a lot without losing much quality.
