Was on a project and it got kinda hectic, so hence my panicked post. But I think it had something to do with changing the camera lens and focal distance. Also I was working using dynamic splines in cinema - which I'll never use again. just slowed the system down to a crawl. Also tried using the shadow catcher on transparency - 2hr a frame renders. So its all a learning curve! Graham

Hi -I've opened a project in a pc from mac and the viewport is scaled in about 50%. Its affecting the camera render. simple I know, is there a button to reset viewport - frame all... Thanks
  5. I have been out of the industry for a while, doing other work. Part of the reason for this was the constant sitting. Thinking of re-entering and was wondering if anything has changed? Is standing now an option being introduced/ is it fully introduced as standard yet? Im in Uk. Graham
  6. Fracture object just seems to crash the machine, I'm trying to do it manually by selecting groups, but its awkward.
  7. Your a champ Sb, I'll dissect that tomorrow. Its night time here. All the best Graham
  8. Sb, much appreciated for your post and taking the time to that sample scene. I'll use it at some point down the line. But this is a polygonal Tree. http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3ds-max-english-oak-tree/807438 The trunk and leaves are tow separate objects. Apologies, I should have been clearer.
  9. Hi all, I'm animating a tree transitioning from summer to winter. I'd like the leaves (1000's of) to slowly disappear individually - randomly. Is there a way to randomly have the transparency on some of them animate to 100% Thanks Graham
  10. What Pc Laptops would people recommend?

    new laptop

Hello - thinking of investing in a new macbook pro, 15" For cinema mostly, maya and a bit of Ae... Was just wondering what are the things to look out for on spec - processor, cores....? Graham
  14. Also, when I plug into the transparency channel with image same size, it maps incorrectly. Even when Uv mapped, the image doubles up when using a file in transparency channel.
  15. Yes I saw that plugin ,and was thinking of that. But is just a freebee for someone. I was thinking of plugging the colour into the transparency channel, with a layer of noise as well. Or should it be the reflectance channel?
  16. Hi would anyone know the best way to set up this shader. I'll be getting psd's and want to use them as mattes, and colour for stained glass. Thanks
  17. Does anyone know how to hold or cache the hair, so I can keep it on one frame. A sort of set initial state? Thanks

  22. I'm forever searching the net for new films/movies to watch, as I'm sure you are too. But often is the case the same list is put up again and again by people - shaw shank redemption inevitably being no.1 So I thought where better than here to ask for personal recommendations. 23. Cheers guys, and thanks for the offer Rich. But managed to get it working. I was assigning to some sort of controller in the Rigs hierarchy rather than an actual bone - so there was some sort of lag. But lesson learnt. At least I know it can work now!
  24. Im having a lot of difficulty with the psr constraint in R13 and R15. I'm constraining an object to a hand - via the wrist bone. Maintain offset on.. But its always different to view finder, seems to be faulty really, I have them joints above the mesh in Object manager, Also dropped the object into a null and applied psr to null, Still seems bust?
  25. Seems it was the GreyscaleGorilla Hdri studio was at fault. No black shadows appear when I use a sky object.
