  1. http://www.stashmedia.tv/?p=24306 Emmy Award-winning Melbourne designer Raoul Marks, most often found working with the Elastic crew and Patrick Clair, steps out on his own to create both the visuals and the audio to open the 2015 Semi-Permanent design conference with a sweeping and surreal film. Raoul Marks about the BTS clip: “This video has been rather hastily put together, and as by way of apology i’d like to share the full high resolution model and textures of the Astronaut from these titles. Heres the Link: dropbox.com/s/sqq1niss9xy04j4/ASTRONAUT.zip?dl=0. Theres and FBX and two C4D files, one for Octane and one adapted for C4D native render.”
  2. Thanks everyone. I tried the fracture object method and it seems to be working. It's giving me some crazy results, but that's just my lack of knowledge. I'll keep messing with it.
  3. Anyone know if it's possible to get the Tracer object to trace the "shards" of an Explosion object's object? I have had no luck getting the Tracer to recognize the shards.
  4. My camera is locked off. Unfortunately, I can't upload the project. I created an object buffer around the text and turned off the BG.I combined the GI render, buffer render and my original footage (as the background) in AE and that got rid of the line. But it seems really inefficient. I will have to try Hamilton's settings and see if that works for this project. Thanks for the help. And I'll take any other input I can get on this problem.
  5. I'm fairly new to C4D so please excuse the stupidity. But this is driving me insane. The edge of the plane I'm using as a floor/compositing background to catch the shadows of some 3D text keeps showing up in my renders as a thin line.I have a compositing tag on the plane that has "seen by camera" and "compositing background" selected. I have the alpha channel checked in the material for the floor (I'm using a QT in the color channel to match the QT in the Background layer. I have "Frontal" selected). Here is a screenshot of the issue I'm having: http://www.flickr.com/photos/12432732@N04/5392822145/ Not sure how much more info I need to provide in order to help diagnose the problem. Please let me know and I'll post it. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.
  6. Yes, sorry. Here is a render showing the issue I'm having. Thanks.http://www.flickr.com/photos/12432732@N04/5392822145/

  8. Thanks for the help. I will ask for help on the other boards first in future.
  9. Sorry about this, but I'm under a deadline. Doing a simple Inception-ish reveal of extruding text from above. How can I create a separate rate of extrusion for each character? I know what a ridiculously basic question this is, but I'm stuck. I'm using a Mograph text object if that matters. Tried the Random Effector, just looked a little too... random. All I want is to be able to have the characters reach their "apex" at a set time of my choosing. Do I need to seperate the characters onto their own layers and assign a seperate extrude to each character? If so, (get ready for another stupid question) how does one separate the letters of a Mograph text object? Sorry if this is the wrong section and for the question(s) overall. Thanks in advance.
  10. If not, why not? Not defending the program, just curious. Seems like few if any do.
