  1. Hi Folks, Here's the setup: I'm making a paper looking globe by putting a slice of sphere in a radial cloner object, and then fanning it out so that it creates a globe. This all works beautifully until I try to combine the fix texture option with animating the start and end angle of the radial cloner object. What I'm trying to do is attach a map texture to the cloner object, so that when it's fanned out completely, the individual segments of the cloner have the image of the map spread across them. I'm using spherical mapping, and that works well, and looks how I want it to (img. 1). The problem comes when my globe fans from shut position to full globe position. Once it animates in C4d, it maps the globe texture to each individual segment, not as a globe overall (img. 2). For some reason, the texture does stick and work properly if the globe is animating from full globe to shut position. The problem with that is I need it to go from shut to open. I'm banging my head against the wall here. Any suggestions? C4D R11.5 Project File: http://www.mtinley.com/previews/tinley/Paper_Sphere.c4d
  2. Sick, sitting in bed, with nothing to do, so i've been watching tutorials all day and I recently watched this tutorial: Basically creating a wall of tiles with the cloner object, using a plain effector to rotate them 90˚ to reveal another image on the other side. I get all of this, no problem there. What I'm more interested in, is how you could optimize this and make it more flexible. He's sticking a texture to the cloned objects, but is there a way to export a normals map out and then change the texture after the fact somewhere else like AE? If so, whats the process for that? I'm under the impression its not as simple as like applying a compositing tag and it gives you the alpha channel. By the way, Nick's tutorial with the Discovery Channel Ident with the rotating cubes is not exactly what I have in mind. His is an illusion, but I'm thinking of trying to get the textures to really stick to the cloned objects and rotate with them. Any ideas on this? (Thanks)
  3. Hey guys and gals, I was looking for some help on setting up an effect with the Mograph cloner object. So I complied some of the info that I found around the net. Click on the link to my blog: http://kevingabriel2000.blogspot.com/p/mograph-cloner-object-tips-and-simple.html I hope these tips are helpful and reduce the amount of fumbling that takes place that many people face when setting up Mograph object and animations.
