  1. Hey guys! I just finished this new 3d animated side project and thought about sending it over for y'all to take a look at :) I had a lot of fun putting it together! I’m a little scared sending it out into the world but, I thought I would give it a go and see what happens. That’s how everyone learns right? So, hopefully you have the time to take a look at it. Thanks for your time! Vimeo link: https://vimeo.com/315812004 Full project link: https://www.behance.net/gallery/75969173/BEYOND Project Details: Beyond is a side project I created to push myself creatively. I actually don’t really like sci-fi, or know too much about DC or the Marvel universe. Every year, I try to give myself one large side project to improve technically as well as in my storytelling skills. I saw that creating something from a source that already exists while using a look and feel I don’t feel comfortable using as a huge challenge. After some research and seeing the cool stuff people where doing online, I remember how much I loved the animated series Batman Beyond as a kid. That was the spark that led me to think, what if I created a “fake” trailer for a modern take on Batman Beyond while using subtle indications from the show? It was definitely challenging but with some small personal victories along the ride :) I hope you enjoy my work as much as I had creating and diving into this world! 5. The exact same colour is diplaying differently in AE and PS on the same monitor. If I export a still from AE and bring it into PS is matches the PS colour. If I import it back into AE it matches the AE colour. Here is a screen grab: Both apps are CC. Any one have any ideas what up?

    The Silver Ninja

Hello mographers, I am very happy to share with you my recently completed animation for my book The Silver Ninja. Enjoy the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97HjspPYzVc A few notes that you expert mographers will notice: -The vanishing point didn't come out as well as I hoped. The perspective of the buildings was just slightly off, so those of you with keen eyes will notice some blockiness. -The rain came out nice, but it's definitely reminding me that I need to get trapcode particular so I can have better control. - Making a custom optical flares with the video copilot plugin is a lot trickier than I thought!
  7. Ever since Buck's Goodbooks piece and traditional animation in general has been picking up steam I have been meaning to get back to basics with some cell animations. I have been using Photoshop and with the video layer updates in 5.5+ it is a great workflow. Anyways, I am looking for a good brush set that can mimic traditional inking similar to a micron pen. If anyone has any recommendations on a brush set (preferably free) it would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone wants to open up a discussion about cell animation in general please post. I haven't done traditional since college using pencil, paper and a lunch box so I'd like to hear from others who have been picking it up as well.
  8. Been a while, I've put up a new mograph reel: http://vimeo.com/33890836 Comments appreciated!
