  1. Hi guys, I've tried googling this but have had no luck, so: I've been supplied a model of a bottle (a .dae file) which I need to animate. The model is horrible. Super dense, triangulated. Pretty nasty. But usable. Except for the label which I need to remodel because when rendering the artifacting from the imported mesh is naff. So I isolated the label and created a bunch of splines from the horizontal edges with the intention of lofting a new nice mesh. Good work Dane you're a super duper good designer. But instead I'm getting this super fucked up spaghetti loft that I'm sure has the sole intention of drowning kittens and is no good for anyone. From what I gathered it's the direction of each of the spline points which I think might have something to do with the normals of the original mesh? I'm not sure. Has anyone had this problem before? In the URL below is a link to the file and some screengrabs. Cheers! Dane. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/amqhavfj8calkqe/AADVmink1SVWah8FGv5WRT9Ca?dl=0
  2. Hi, I am looking for a way to distribute clones along a spline. At the beginning of the splines the clones should have distance A and at the end of the spline distance B. I want to animate the clones through and offset... Basically I would like for them to have a larger gap between them at the beginning of the spline and while they move along reduce the gap between the clones... Any ideas how to achieve that? Thanks
  3. Hi guys, This might sound familiar, but there's no documentation or thread providing an answer. I've been trying to roll up a plane along a spline but gave up on it. This is what I tried so far: the Bend deformer would do the trick, if there only was a possibility to offset its anchor point - but there isn't using a Plane, a Spline Wrap Deformer and a Helix doesn't work, as I haven't found a way to get a flat in & out vector - the plane always shoots out of the helix at some angle a mospline could possibly work, but it doesn't have an offset parameter, nor would it look like a proper roll - so it's rather special Am I missing any technique? Cheers, Will
  4. Hi Guys, This is my first post on here so I hope its in the appropriate place. I've been trying to replicate the effect found on the breakdown of a piece posted on Greyscalegorilla, here's a link: Basically I want to replicate the third shot in the breakdown where a bunch of cubes fly out, it looks like under the influence of a plain effector, while splines remain attached to the cubes at one end while anchored to world zero at the other. The splines all have spline dynamics and move and wiggle convincingly based on the movement of their respective cube, gravity, etc. The only way I've been able to make this work is by manually animating each element, and this video leads me to believe there is a way to automate this process through mograph, just haven't been able to make it work. Any advice on how to achieve an effect like this as mograph-automated as possible would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  6. I have a building. The roof of the building will outline then fill in. Once this happens the roofs outline and fill will raise. I need dashed lines in the corners which has proven quite difficult. However I managed to do this by using an object cloner to the Tracer which is tracing the corners of my spline which is the outline of the roof top. This is where is gets kind of tricky. I have the outline position moving on the Y Axis above the building as if the blueprint is floating directly overhead. Once that happens I scale the outline/fill out 20%. This is where the tracer messes up. Instead of creating a tether type effect to keep the smallest point between the 2 points it creates an L shape. So from where the outline starts to the position Y spot is a straight 90 degree upward trace, then when it scales outward it goes out, but not diagonal. Instead in an L. How can I avoid this. Is there another method out there? Any help would be great, This is how i need to have it done.
  7. I'm trying to learn more about dynamics, and I thought creating a wind chime that reacts to wind would be a good experiment. I'm currently hung up with spline dynamics though. I've got a loop of spline attached to a block, and I have a chime that I want to hang from that loop. I've got all the dynamics working, except the chime ends up breaking away from the loop. I can't seem to find a way to make it lighter or something so that it stays hooked on the spline. Any ideas? Borrowing from a tutorial I saw a while back, I tried increasing the project's dynamic steps per frame, but no use. I've included the project here: http://www.deltawavefx.com/uploads/Chime_Dynamic_test.c4d.zip
  8. Hi guys, I made in xpresso a setup with a matrix object with a sound effector and a moinstance with a spline. The matrix object is affecting the spline based in sound effector and mo instance is repeting this splines when move back in Z. the problem seems to be that the splines are changing during the moviment.. Anyone kwnos whats going on? PROJECT LINK http://www.mediafire.com/?qw5a62v64ucecyg,rai7oe63iywpoe9 xpresso setup
  9. http://www.deltawave...rapper_test.c4d Check out the c4d file. I'm wrapping a cloner object along a spline, and I get a gap that suddenly appears after f30. Anyone know why that happens? Thanks!

Hi Guys, Could you help me? How can I did this one (see attached). Could you give me some advice, or something what can help me?
  11. Hopefully this is quick and I'm just missing something small. I have a spline connected to some text. I'm using a spring connector for the actual dynamics. Everything is working pretty well except the the spline disconnects some how and then catches up once the animation settles. So far the only work around I've found is animating the offset values on the constraint tag. Anyone have any ideas why the end of my spline isn't staying connected? Thanks.
  12. Is there a way to adjust the space/distance between clones on a spline? I feel like there is an effector to do exactly this, but I've tried them all and found nothing. Any ideas?
  13. Hello helpers! I'm trying to do this dynamic animation thing where letters are attached to ropes and they get dropped to spell a word. I've got the drop part with the rope attached to the object and it seems to be working... mostly, my issue is that the letters don't collide to each other. I believe it's the whole xpresso thing where I told the object to follow the spline so it ignores object collisions. Is there any way I can get the object to dictate the dynamic aspects of the rope? I've tried something quickly but don't quite get Xpresso well enough to figure it out, and can't seem to attach a dynamic object to a spline, it just falls down leaving the spline behind. Thanks!
