  1. Hey guys! I just finished this new 3d animated side project and thought about sending it over for y'all to take a look at :) I had a lot of fun putting it together! I’m a little scared sending it out into the world but, I thought I would give it a go and see what happens. That’s how everyone learns right? So, hopefully you have the time to take a look at it. Thanks for your time! Vimeo link: https://vimeo.com/315812004 Full project link: https://www.behance.net/gallery/75969173/BEYOND Project Details: Beyond is a side project I created to push myself creatively. I actually don’t really like sci-fi, or know too much about DC or the Marvel universe. Every year, I try to give myself one large side project to improve technically as well as in my storytelling skills. I saw that creating something from a source that already exists while using a look and feel I don’t feel comfortable using as a huge challenge. After some research and seeing the cool stuff people where doing online, I remember how much I loved the animated series Batman Beyond as a kid. That was the spark that led me to think, what if I created a “fake” trailer for a modern take on Batman Beyond while using subtle indications from the show? It was definitely challenging but with some small personal victories along the ride :) I hope you enjoy my work as much as I had creating and diving into this world! 2. Hey guys, I've been following some of the threads on this forum and thought I'd decide to contribute. Here is a music video I made in my spare time, using Cinema 4D and After Effects. https://vimeo.com/277681369 Here's a breakdown on my Behance page: https://www.behance.net/gallery/67449521/Bare-My-Soul-Music-Video The band is called Empathy Test, who surprisingly decided to share it on their social channels! Hope you enjoy
  3. Hi everybody or anybody, I am new to this site and don't really know the "rules of engagement" but what I do know that I am crazy about animation and moving shapes in After Effects. So when I finally got some time on my hands I have decided to create a short animation ( 1 min) long. And now I present my creation to you guys. So I wrote a short poem about my Instagram addiction and after hard work of watching tutorials, animating, translating it to English. I finally finished and ready to present it to "Motion gods" or "motion servants" so tell me what you think. Here is a link to YouTube video Instagram a world of beauty
  4. So I've created four mographs so far, I intend on making a series of quick things with the goal of getting used to the mechanics of rigging characters and just allow myself to experiment and play more. The flamingo mograph I looked at how to work with water in animations as well as the shading styles. I was also aware of the graphic design aspect of it. The odd 'death deer creature' is just a play on creating strange fictional characters (plus I've been aching to make something with antlers and a globe), i used the noise shading again because i had SO MUCH fun with it, but i also added some photoshop textures in the back. In the deer's behavior i looked at how i can communicate an easily startled, cautious creature who then calms down realising there is no threat. The Giraffe was an experiment of an effect I've been using a lot lately and I was simply curious to see what it would look like to have some kind of effect over a moving character. The fish was simply my first attempt at cell animation. I'd love some feedback as the main goal of this series is just to improve on something with each mograph, I'm also open to suggestions.
  5. I've got a 2D null object with motion tracking data applied to it. I need the position of a 3D light to follow the position of that 2D null object and show up correctly. Obviously, when I parent the position of the 3D light to the 2D null position---it doesn't align properly. I'm trying to figure out how to use an expression to convert the world space position of the 3D light to the comp space of the 2d null. (I think I am describing that correctly? I don't think I fully understand layer space vs comp space) I tried searching the forums on mograph.org for this and I couldn't find a clear answer, if one at all. I've been digging through the interwebs for hours. Sorry If I missed a thread with the answer! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys! -Jordan

  9. Anyone have any recommendations for a really good camera shake plugin or script in AE? I've used the Red Giant universe one, and of course have done the common wiggle(), but am still really unhappy with the results—it always feels inorganic. The best camera shakes I've found are for Premiere, and are footage based—it would be amazing to find shakes of this caliber as a similarly one-click solution for the AE camera.

Is it better to go frame by frame on this one? What do you guys think? This is the example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kv6kk5p2yawuzgk/4.png?dl=0 Thanks in advance!

  17. Hello, I have tracked some footage off a phone screen so that i can composite some new animated footage on the phone. Now the track is fine but when i apply the tracking data to the new footage (corner pin) i see a small edge on the outside. This is because the footage is scaled (corner pinned) to fit the motion of the phone. What i want to do is scale the entire footage just a bit. Is there a way to add a overall scale so that i don't have to scale every single tracked keyframe? Hope someone can help me?! Cheers, Thierry
