  2. Hello and good morning, afternoon or evening. I'm Steve, Im new here and hoping to find your acceptance, support and witty banter (maybe I'm just setting myself up for the latter..) I'm very new to making things move in 3D, but am pretty well versed in creating still visuals. Here's the challenge I'm up against: We've all been there.. You render something out, it looks a bit flat so you render alpha channels and with a bit of Photoshop wisdom - BAM, you've nailed it! What I'm seeking help with is how to do the exact same, but in After Effects.. For example - if we imagine an animation of a glossy bouncing ball that needs some retouching, how do I import the images and alpha channels into After Effects and apply one levels adjustment that effects just the bouncing ball? What's more, I understand After Effetcs and 3D are pretty compatible. Is there an entirely different way of getting animations into After Effects and retouching them to look much more realistic!? Thanks for stopping by and I eagerly await your support and banter! Steve

    Stop Motion Look in C4D

I was wondering if any of you nice sirs know any way of achieving the stop motion ¨feel¨of animating on 2´s or 3´s. There is CV stopmotion from Cineversity but I don´t plan on paying a forced 12 month subscription. Any ideas other than animating at 6-12fps with hold keyframes?

    C4D hair system tutorial

I recently used C4D's hair system for a building projection (Norwich castle, UK) and I figured not enough people use what is one of Cinema's strongest tools. So, time for a video I think.
  5. I have not posted in a while I have some questions about exporting and importing model with textures for Xcode. The model needs to be DAE 1.4 for Xcode with the following: 1. size in meter 2. light map texture (which format is best considering file size hdr, jpg?) 3. normal map (which format jpg?) I'm trying to export a furniture (sofa) as DAE. If you have links to resources that would be helpful too! Thanks in advance
  6. So I'm a big fan of Discord, using it for all sorts but I looked around and strangely enough couldn't find a MoGraph specific server. So as the guy behind Cinema 4D MoGraph as well as a motion graphics freelancer myself I figured I should, well, you know, sort of make the effort, here's the link to anyone interested in joining : https://discord.gg/X8ue7F

    OBJECT BUFFER MAKER SCRIPT

Attached is the OBJECT BUFFER MAKER SCRIPT. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwzRH1iZPQnsTlU1WlBsZ3BXQXc/view?usp=sharing It makes Object buffers for all selected objects in a scene, names them and adds them to the render settings with corresponding sequential object buffer information. This will save tons of time in your workflow. Developed by RUSS GAUTIER at Perception Studios NYC. TO USE IT: Just copy or merge the python object into whatever scene you want. Then select the objects you want to make buffers for. FINALLY click on the RED "X" next to the python object. It will IMMEDIATELY Turn Off After You Click It and will have MAKING COMPOSITING TAGS, OBJECT BUFFER IDs and MULTIPASS Outputs for all your selected objects. Enjoy!

  10. Hi - I have a project on whereby I need to map or replace the pages in a newspaper with a plane in C4d (so that I can place my own content on later) I thought of using track marks and then setting each point location to my new plane but that seems tricky. Now I am thinking to do things more manually by overlaying a plane with same segments as my tracking markers... Let me know if anyone here has any ideas or tips on how I can may this work...

    New Plugin: 123 Stage

Hi community, i recently coded a plugin mainly for my own use and finally decided to share it with you all I found the native C4D Stage Object to be quite unhandy when it comes to scene cuts between different scenes, lighting environments etc in the viewport. With this plugin you can add null objects under which you add your "scene content" and activate/deactivate them via the interface. If you add camera Nulls the Camera under the null gets automatically activated/deactivated. Let me know if you find this useful or if you find any bugs. I tested it on WIN/MAC R15-R17. I am also thinking about making a video tutorial. 123 Stage Greetings from Hamburg! Martin

    Remote viewer options

Hi guys, Wondering if anybody has any recommendations for remote working/viewing options. I work a lot from home and even when I'm not working I'm often geeking out on Mograph stuff. Problem is that's not too fun for my partner and I'm sure she'd like some breathing space. I'm making a big push right now to get to the next level which can be hard with the distractions at home. Plus happy wife, happy life right? I'm lucky enough to be able to work late or at weekends from the studio I work for but my passion right now is learning X-Particles and Octane which they don't have. So I really would love to be able to remotely hook up my PC, to be operated and viewed through the imac at work. Any ideas? It would be nice not to have to waste power when I'm not using the PC remotely and I need a solution that is preferably free (or v.cheap!) and not laggy/overly compressed. Also bonus points for not needing to get too techy - I'm ok on the mac side and love my PC but not so good under the hood! Appreciate any insight

  16. Dear C4D users! Today we launch our new Streetview4D plugin for Cinema 4D. This tool allows you to use images directly from Google Street View and to light your 3D scene. The last 10 years Google has visited every corner of the earth to capture the most beautiful places. This could range from your own street, the latest Batman film set, The Great Barrier Reef - They got it all! We build a plugin to access all these beautiful Street View panoramas so you can use them in your scene. Use it to light your scene, add reflections or use it as your background. There is also a preset browser with some of the most beautiful panoramas we have discovered. But we challenge you to find even beter locations! All you need to do is copy & paste the Google Street View URL and the plugin will work its magic. There is a Sky Rig included where you can easily change options such as brightness, rotation, blur, and a number of compositing functions. Try out the free demo on our website The Great Summit http://www.thegreatsummit.com and take a look at the other plugins that can help you improve your workflow. Please also find below a 3 minute guide video where you can see the plugin in action. Questions or comments? Please let us know! Your team @ The Great Summit

  18. hi, i have this pre animated, PLA baked radio waves. so the clones are all set on 0,0,0. then a step effector offsets the animatin and so the radio waves do their thing. so far so good now ... when a wave hits another object it should change its color. i was playing around with the collision detection node but whatever i did i couldnt get it to work. i saw some stuff with real dynamic collisions but i only need a collision event. any clues? any clues? thx flow

Hello All, It's been some time since I last visited mograph.net. I wanted to share some work I completed earlier this fall at McMillan Agency for out client, BrandActive. 23. I have an issue with Xpresso. I’m trying to put a delay effector on a joint goal of a rig. But it didn’t work. I put a delay (object and global matrix port) to a sample node, to my Joint goal (global matrix). Did I do something wrong? Here is my file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B25TgNfaUsF8YU11ZVRMMVI4MEk/view?usp=sharing. If you want to look at it! Thank you so much for your time. It’s very appreciated.
  24. Hi, I've been learning motion graphics in AE and C4D over the last year or so and feel it's time to consider upgrading my PC. Below is my current build: - GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard - Intel Core i7-3770K - Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB (OC Edition) - 32GB Patriot Viper 3 - Sandisk Extreme 120GB SSD for OS - Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD for AE disk cache - 1TB Seagate HDD for project files - 400GB Seagate HDD for renders - Corsair Carbide 500R case - Corsair HX750 PSU I've also just bought: - 2x Samsung 850 Pro 256GB - Noctua NH-D15 cooler I plan to use more of C4D as time goes on and have been advised to get into Octane rendering. With that in mind: Can anyone recommend any worthwhile upgrades or replacements for this build? Would adding a second GTX 770 be worthwhile or do I need to replace the GPU for something more powerful and with more memory, ideally? I'm open to considering replacing the CPU and/or motherboard, if a new CPU would substantially benefit my work? How is best to configure my drives? Thanks for your help!
