  2. Hey everyone, With 3D printing becoming more and more popular these days I decided to make a tutorial from one of my most recent experiments with the 3D printer. In this tutorial I'll show you how to model an alien space craft in Cinema 4D then take it into Makerbot’s Makerware software to create a 3D print. You can checkout the tutorial here. Hope you enjoy this tutorial and let us know what you think and if you have any questions.
  3. Whats the easiest way to make a flat surface into a half cylinder surface. Beveling the edges half way gets me there. If there was a way to select a face to become circular? I want to avoid hyperNURBS if possible. TO THIS
  4. The Following images are what I have so far modeled. It is a Bolex camera. Please do a quick google image search on what the camera looks like.I am having trouble modeling the body correctly I get close but i am not as skilled yet to know everything about cinema 4D. From what I know I am having a difficult time modeling the body. The little levers and such are not a problem its just the main body. I have gotten as far as having a hypernurb object that somewhat resembles the shape but not quite right. I was wondering if anyone knows of any controls in cinema 4D that could be helpful. I am going to be playing around with point selection and beveling in the meantime. google search for Bolex

  6. Take a look at the screenshot, in the Right View, I'm trying to get that curve of the case, but I'm not sure how to curve that entire section, with the back plane as well. Do i have to do each point individually? Here's the screenshot: http://www.dropmocks.com/mBnGtF
  7. Hey fellow Mo-o'graphers... I am trying to model a perfume bottle for a friend, and am having some issues as far as getting a liquid inside my glass bottle. Because the shape of the bottle is a little odd...I created a spline on the bottom of the bottle...and extruded it up. I then closed the polygon holes that the extruded splines vreated making a fully enclosed bottle. I actually duplicated the Extrude Nurm...scaled it in a touch...and gave it a different transparent texture and liquid color. If anyone can give me some advice on how to tackle this it would be GREATLY appreciated. On a side note...I am in Northern NJ...and have a lot of good potential jobs in C4D...I could use someone close by to learn from and work with if anyone is interested! Thanks in advance everyone! http://i.imgur.com/EbwqN.png Greg
  8. Hi everyone, I am trying to model a coffee bean...i started out with a capsule.put it on the +Z axis...shrank the height so it would be about the shape of a bean, and then made it editable. My only problem now is trying to get the top half of the mesh to come down to where it's flat, like a real coffee bean is... Could someone help me out with this one...I would be forever in your debt. Thanks so much. Greg You can e-mail me at gregory_a_harrison@hotmail.com
  9. hi all, i've been trying to model this pipe bend with little success but was wondering if anyone had any ideas/direction other than what i did. i ended up using a cylinder, making it editable, bending it, then extruding the polygons and dropping it in a hypernurb. as you can see it's close but not quite right. it's not curved enough; the extrude is too sharp on the edges. if anyone can think of a different method or direction i can go on i'd love to hear it. oh, cinema4d is the program used. thanks!
