C4D - BAKE SWEEP NURBS ANIMATION?HOW TO?

Recommended Posts

hello out there

i want to bake a simple sweep nurbs animation (growth) in timeline for later throwing it into a cloner objekt.

later on I want to offset the animation in time with the step effector.

i tried a lot now. the sweep nurbs animtion will not bake.

(it bakes... but i don`t see my sweep nurbs grow...)

does one of you have experience on that? can someone help me out?

thanks for your advices

how many clones are you trying to make?

there is probably a better way.

why do you HAVE to bake?

i want to bake a simple sweep nurbs animation (growth) in timeline for later throwing it into a cloner objekt.

later on I want to offset the animation in time with the step effector.

"later I want to throw it on a cloner object, later on to .."

whats the point of postponing it all, I'd make the animation (As in RECORD end growth %) while it was already under the cloner object while the step effector's time offset was already set to something higher than 30 (atleast for starting reference so you could easily notice the gap created between the growths)

but I might be completely outta the issue here, if you gotta bake....

Tim is the one who helped me figure this whole time offsetting issue, if you can't figure it out by Tim's tutorial, I doubt that my explanation would do you any good.

hey yoni. thanks for your advices. thank you tim @ hypa, too!;-) nice tutorial by the way....

but still....;-(

have you ever tried this using sweep nurbs? let me put on a simple example:

you have one spline, a circle shape and you sweep it! thats very easy as we all know....

then we animate the growth of that sweep-nurbs from 0-100%.

thats very easy as well.

now we clone that thingy. still very easy to so. all clones grow from 1-100 during the same period of time.

but i want to offset the growth-animation of each clone in time with the step effector. thats my point!

therefor i thought i had to bake them. understand me?

perhaps my problem is a little more clearer to you...

waiting for your replies..

Ok.

I've assumed you've got one sweep nurbs object cloned with Cloner object from Mograph and its Animated parameters are already set.

Now they're all growing at the same time? good

Make sure your Step effector is under the Cloner Object - Effectors tab and its strength set to 100% .

Goto your step effector's Parameter Tab->Other->Time Offset

play with the value instead of 0...

any luck?

I´ll do so tommorow, when i`m in my little office. thank you very much so far. I´ll post my

Hey man. I hope it'll work out for you, I'm sure this work since I've been using this trick ever since mograph came out over and over (worked great on a flowers blossom with time offsetting on leaves etc, musical bars, whatever... :-)

Thanks for the german lessons, I've seen so much support for MAXON in Deutsch around the web I wouldn't mind speaking it fluently (I'm originally german but my family had to ditch - Thanks again hitler, i'm not too keen on cold temperature anyways..)

hey, good old german fellow... can you read my mind?

what you mentioned is excactly what i want to animate....

don`t you have an open c4d file for me?;-)

at the monent i make good results with only a growing sweepnurbs, scaled tips and a hidden ligth, that followas the spline. export to ae and putting particular on it... anyway... i have not come to practice on

your tips. if you don not mind send me a private mail to: mail_morgraph_de

(replace the first with an @ and the second with a .);-)

i was glad to having catched this domain -name... mogrph.de besides mograph.net, .tv, org and so on...

hope to hear from you again..

thanks a very lot...;-)

Another way you can do this is by animating Thinking Particles, use Xpresso and TP parameters to control the speed of your particles and the rate at which they emit. Then use a Tracer object on that. Then finally put the tracer object into a single sweep nurbs. Your control would be in the Thinking Particles instead of effectors.
