Cool Cinema 4D script "Imageplane"

Recommended Posts

I'm having trouble making imageplane, my favourite script, work in R11.5. Anybody else? I'm completely lost without it...

Hm.... I just gave it a quick whirl in 11.5, and it seems to be working fine here. What in particular is it that doesn't work on your end?

Hi James,

Thanks for your answer, I went on and downloaded the scripts again instead of just passing them from my R11 install to the R11.5 folder and they worked! :)

If you ever are in the mood for another time saver, I thought it would be great to be able to automate the MoGraph Text object to change its name to whatever is written in the Text field, sort of like Photoshop does with Text layers. I'd wish I knew how to do it myself! :)

Thanks again for these great scripts.

M.

Out-Standing!

I echo Scott—so jealous of folks who can code. James, thank you again for an excellent script. It's stuff like this that adds up to hundreds (thousands?) of saved hours of everyone's collective time. What a cool thing to do.

It's very simple to do with an Xpresso tag, but I agree... it should be implemented into the MoGraph Text Object properties with a Radio Button option or something.

You can make a default setup for this by adding a Coffee Tag to a

Mograph (and/or regular Text) Object.

In the Coffe Tag paste the following;

main(doc,op)
{
 op#PRIM_TEXT_TEXT = op#ID_BASELIST_NAME;
}

Then in the Attribute Manager for the Text Object go

Edit -> "Set As Default.."

Now every time you add a Text Object, the CoffeeTag with the

naming code will be there.

Whoa... hot tip of the day!

Had no idea that Set Defaults included tags... I thought it only saved the parameters in the AM.

Nice.

Its actually working backwards for me, whatever I name the text object in the object manager is what gets placed int he text field in the attribute manager. Is there a way to reverse it?

Still works great, just not the way I thought it would. Props to you coding-capable chaps!

hmmm.... first time running into this thread, got all excited, but the link is broken. Went to the site and don't see it.

My original link is toast but James' are still good. There's one that applies the texture to the Color channel and one that applies it to the Luminance channel. Prepare to have more time on your hands...

FOUND you again! Been looking for this for a week. Thanks!

edit - any way to make it so it always updates the other one regardless of which one you edit? (ie, atm switching the codes between the = only lets me edit either end, would be nice if I could edit either the name or the text field and the other would update).
