I hear Bratislava is the place to be over there!! lol, JK, kinda sounds like you should work your trip the other way around. start off in eastern europe, like the czech republic, and work your way west, save yourself a long ass train ride. prague is a great city, you can rent an apartment there for like 50$ a night w/ a washer dryer, even AC. plus you get a little vacation in a vaction by stopping in amsterdam on your way west, from there you can hit switzerland, i def. reccomend a stop in interlakken. then do the boot, come back up & end up in spain or france. the whole apartment thing might be a bit different now, things were a bit cheaper when I was there.

You obviously can't get there by rail, but if you have time I recommend visiting the Italian island of Sardegna (sometimes spelled Sardenia). The beaches are amazing, as are the people and the food...

cefalu, in sicily, is a great little place to stop for a day. Absolutely amazing little town. You can hike up a mountain the town sits at the base of, and there are ruins from an ancient fort you can check out. One of my favorite places.

And go to greece if you can. Totally hot women, jovial people, and amazing food.

http://www.couchsurfing.com/

can't vouch for it personally, i simply read an article on the plane and it sounded pretty interesting if you're looking to travel on the cheap. basically you see if people will let u crash on their couch/room/house at places around the world and in turn you do the same (if you choose to) for other people looking to travel to wherever you are located.

Haha, this is funny re socialists and muslims :). How many americans have passports anyways :).

Visit mid italy, south france, swiss, go right to austria, down to slovenia, down to croatia, fly from there to scandinavia and from there to portugal.

I live over here in Europe, and I even met some muslims and socialists. They didn't spend all the time talking about automatic weaponary and expanding bullets so you may be safe while you are here.

You mean there aren't any socialists or riotous muslim youth in Europe? I guess Reuters and the AP got it wrong. All I'm saying is, give 'em a wave for me. If that makes me a bigot, oh well. I'll still sleep well tonight. :)

Personally i would go in Italy check Sicilia (incredible sea food), Napoli, Lipari islands, Rome is too big, Toscana is worth visiting also it's so beautiful. Florence and small towns of this area are a must. Greece is also nice but it's more about beach sceneries IMO.

The fact that you place socialists on the same level as rioting muslims means that you have a serious problem with your educational system.

Do you even know what a socialist is?

a socialist is probably someone who believes in a national health service free to all citizens. A New York friend of mine who is a musician and can't afford insurance couldn't afford to have a cancerous tumour removed, and had he not found a surgeon who was prepared to do it half price (because he liked the idea of supporting a struggling artist) he would probably still have his tumour.

don't they socialize alot? in all seriousness though I'd love to get socialized medicine over here, but thanks to companies like phizer, glaxo smith kline, & roche that will never happen. big business over here keeping people healthy.
