We were talking about it in the office the other day. It apparently just played in NYC (maybe through AIGA?).

The running joke was the the line outside the movie theater would be the typographically geeky equivalent to any major Star Wars release.

I'd be very interested to hear a review.

Yeah, I'm pissed that it's going to be shown in places like Nashville and New Zealand before it's shown in San Francisco.

No DVD available. I'm sure it will be along at some point though.

i think it will be a very interesting movie, much better than one about sparkplugs or shine... the film is being released in 2007 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the typeface's introduction.

 

maybe there will be a 50th anniversary movie about shine? i hope not...

i caught the screening at RISD last night. very informative film, with some (if not most) of the designers being quite interesting and engaging characters - especially Bierut + Carson. i was audibly chuckling... which is saying a lot.

 

thank for the heads-up on this Ryan, it was nice to catch an impromptu FREE flick on a Tuesday night.

 

definitely not a grass growing doc for turf farmers.

i caught the screening at RISD last night. very informative film, with some (if not most) of the designers being quite interesting and engaging characters - especially Bierut + Carson. i was audibly chuckling... which is saying a lot.
