Cutty Pastey 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 I'm willing to donate to avoid banners as I'm sure many of us are - let us know when and where.
jasfish 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 But then I can't taunt the COW defenders... When does anyone defend the COW here?
Guest Sao_Bento Report post Posted July 6, 2007 When does anyone defend the COW here? Not here. elsewhere - Like General Specialist, etc.
Srek 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2007 When does anyone defend the COW here? I decided lately that the next time i post on the cow will be the moment that the first page i'm seeing is not an advertisement of any kind. Tough luck that they pop an ad to everyone who wasn't active for some time first thing Cheers Björn
kountz 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 (edited) Hey, I’m newbie to this forum as far as posting goes but its proved to be one of the best sources of inspiration and tuition for all things mo graph related. I've got some DV hosting that I don't really use for anything major. I'd be happy to 'donate' some bandwidth and storage it if it meant that mograph kept going. Just let me know. I'm sure some of the regular posters wouldn't mind chipping in as admin and watching the forums, as I’m sure they already do. [anyone?] It would be a massive loss to see it go, or combine in any way with CC. -andy Edited August 1, 2007 by kountz
superegophobia 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2007 dunno if things got worked out already but my 2 cents, sponsorship and/or donations would be ideal. if that doesn't work then i don't mind a non-intrusive banner or two like motionographer. should watch out for the whole slippery slope thing, the Cow and it's columns of banners just grosses me out now. govinda 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2007 Just as an update, as far as I know, nobody's decided anything, and nobody's talking about anything. So it' limbo, and while it is a little silly, until someone comes along and can commit and has the tools to make it work, it's a nice pink limbo with friendly smartasses and the occasional meaty piece of info you can't get anywhere else. Govinda in a thong Clint in a nascar nightie Sao in cut off jeans and a sequined Mograph Pink™ tube top Fred in his tiger striped bra and panty set (riding the metro) Tread making his "face" wearing nothing but roller skates And Gray Machine (aka Mr. September) wearing a mini skirt and a Detroit Red wings tank top in black patent stilletos. what can I say...I'm kinky. AromaKat 1 Report post Posted August 27, 2007 I am willing to host and maintain the site if you need. I have plenty of experience with php forum engines. I would not start placing up ads or anything like that. Here is a site I am currently working on, which of course, would no longer be existent if I were to maintain Mograph. jporter313 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 I'd have no problem forgiving this site for a few adds. The cow is a little too much, but something along the lines of www.cgtalk.com or motionographer would be fine with me.

zedman 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 i would participate in any way to keep mograph.net alive. like the idea of a fund and mediatemple. would also like to see a magazine dedicated to motion graphics (of course not for free), but would generate more and another sort of work. kitkats 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 I just built a community site with Drupal, if thats any help - could certainly offer some advice on ease and limitations of Drupal. Database migration is obviously a no.1 issue. I have a friend who is an SQL programmer and could probably do it but he has said that transferring posts is one thing, and user accounts is another. Email me with any questions if interested.
Null Object 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Why not charge to post jobs or get into the placement business. You could still keep the free job listings if you want. Companies could pay a little for a sticky, or front page ad, or maybe even broadcasted PM (I never get PMs and wouldn't find it annoying). It's more progressive than a banner ad and will probably pay better. People are looking to change jobs all the time. And companies will shell out some coin to look more professional on a board with this many quality candidates. Just my .02.
