Orrr... it's like a smart Foreground Object!

 

One of the things I like to do before I animate my camera is to divide the camera space into thirds. I usually achieve this by making a plane a child of a camera object, set the x and y polygon subdivision to 3, turn it off in the renderer and then add a Display tag so that it renders in Line Mode in the editor. That works just swell *until* you change the focal length... then you're screwed. Enter SteadyPlane... problem solved.
