schumway 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 I wanted to test the audio capabilities of Form, so I played around a bit and came up with this thing. It´s really a rewarding way to animate, as you get results you´d never get if you were to keyframe it yourself. Anyways, tell me what you think. Colin@movecraft 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 Dope. How'd you do the sphere morph towards the end? Polar coordinates? cc lens. dope little piece.
the_Monkey 8 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 I like what you've done with the rendering quite a lot, but I think the piece suffers from a quality in most early audio/video experiments... namely that it's temporally noisy. It's like watching a play where everybody says all of their lines at the same time. I think you would instantly increase the watchability of it if you were to isolate and narrow your audio data. Great work. -m
Guest dumbo Report post Posted June 12, 2009 nice website, and some good pieces in there too.
schumway 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2009 Thank you for your kind words. Yeah, I used CC Lens with some Knoll Lightfactory to get the sphere look. As far as the audio goes I agree 100%. But I have a weird taste in music, so I actually listen to stuff like this.
imcalledandy 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2009 I really like the tone of the colour palette and you got a really nice look to the particles - is it the cloudlet / smokelet or custom?
microdot 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2009 very cool. I agree about the audio, in that some frenetic moments could be punctuated by moments where the particles moves a lil more purposefully, and with a lil less noise. Also, is the inner shading handled by form, or some other post method? nice work.
milk:machine 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2009 I really like the tone of the colour palette and you got a really nice look to the particles - is it the cloudlet / smokelet or custom? My estimated guess would be smokelet, since that's the only particle type that has self-shadowing. Nice work, and you used zero keyframes on this? Besides on the mosaic filters and such. zka11 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2009 watched this today from some tweeter, really nice work. I can`t say that the audio is anoying, for this type of experiments is ok I guess. dope color palette too
getSOME 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2009 Nice, Did you make the audio? I love this type of music (and all types for that matter) if you didn't who did? thanks.... Great site as well..
butler 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2009 damn that is impressive. A++ to you. You have inspired me to experiment with form tomorrow and see if I can get something nice going on.
Ratbaggy 1 Report post Posted June 16, 2009 that's great! nice one. no keyframes? that's probably why it looks so 'noisy' eh?
schumway 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2009 Yeah, it´s a smokelet particle and there are a couple of keyframes here and there. I also blended several instances of Form to get it to react the way I wanted.
