How is the freelance life going?

I have been wondering how many of you guys are getting work. On my end has been awful, some small, painful work here and there but nothing good.

I have a lot of free time these days. I am planning to spend on my new site and a new reel, print some of my boards this kind of stuff.

But if you guys have any idea for a project or a short film I could help, please let me know.

I have to say.. the beginning of the year was pretty awful for me too... only in march things started to pickup and finally in april i really got to work for real... I was onnly getting small jobs till then.

Now im working on a mid-term job, and i hope things keep this way. I have friends in NY who complained a lot... also in Europe... it looks like things are getting slowly better from june...

I think using your free time to make your folio look sick is a great idea. It's all about presentation, and if you get your sweet site up and around the interwebs you'll definitely get more pecks.

 

Updating your portfolio is hard work, even harder when you have a day job to distract you. Get it done now and you'll be thankful when the calls start coming in.

Things are going OK here, though I am getting far more work from Canadian companies than American ones right now. At this time last year I hadn't worked for a Canadian company in about 14 months despite living in Canada...
