Guest Sao_Bento Report post Posted September 14, 2009 this might be a good place to start http://mattepainting.org/ As a word of caution, I'd point out that most of the people at mattepainting.org seem to view matte painting as starting with a photo, then making it look like something a very drunken Thomas Kinkade shat out at a store in the mall. The term "matte painting" has lost a lot of it's meaning, and you will find that many, many so called "matte painters" have never worked with a live action background plate before. Make sure to ask all the obvious questions before hiring someone.

Matte painter is probably a more tedious job. http://www.conceptart.org/ Edited September 14, 2009 by jan
