Junior Taxi 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 Hi all, I have a project where I need to build and travel through a brain synapse scene a lot like in the fight club opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6oOCDJImSw Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to go about modeling something like this? I'd prefer to have a degree of randomness so as not to model 1-2 objects and repeat. Varying sizes/thicknesses of threads & connectors would be ideal but I'll take any clues I can get right now... thanks for reading Best, Chris
J Montreuil 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 Shot in the dark but could you use an atom array on a many sided polygon, randomize the position of the points and apply a texture with a lot of displacement in it?
jsolterbeck 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2010 That's a good idea. I was also thinking, shoot out some particles with tracers on them, high turbulence on the particles, convert to polys, and similarly add whatever texture you need. You could even do this a couple times with a few particles, so that you could layer things on and have more overlapping, and maybe vary up the textures too. J Montreuil 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2010 The body shader pack has some really good textures. I can see one in my mind that would work really well but I don't remember the name. Its got some good displacement with the black and whitish look that you see a lot.
