Avid announces that "Avid Free DV" is now available ....

It is a free editing package for anyone wanting to explore video editing - basically, it is a "limited" version of the Avid editing interface.

Nice move tho, mimicking that of the 3D industry (where every major app has a free learning version). Never been a better time to be a mograph student.
