fishing pole +bend object + dynamic hair rope = problems

I have a fishing pole with a dynamic hair spline attached to the tip. I also have the pole animated. The string bounces nicely with the pole animation, but once I add an additional bend object to the pole the string becomes offset. I cannot include the string with the bend deformer because it gets deformed as well (and looks crazy)

 

Also, The string only loses its connection for like 15 frames in the beginning of the swing, but the by end of the animation the string has joined up with the pole's constraint.

 

Im trying to rush this today, and my newbie skills are failzone :*(

you could use Hair.

that will follow along nicely.

if you set Type to Instance, you can use geometry instead of a spline.

 

 

there's a good example on cgtalk

add a deformer and you'll see the hair follows

d

I got it to work, thanks!

 

But i think i might want to attach something to the end of the string at one point...so maybe im back to the old way...and fake it in AE
