florio 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2011 Hey Guys (and Girls) I'm working on a project where the environment animators are building scenes in 3ds Max and I need to snag the camera data so I can make the mograph elements match. Does anyone know a way to do this or do I have to build my elements in 3ds Max (something I really really REALLY don't wanna do) Thanks a bunch in advance ~Florio
scott frizzle 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2011 If the 3ds Max guys can export their camera data to After Effects, you can export it to Cinema using the script at the link below. I'm not sure if this is the most recent link, but it works. Download pt_AEtoC4D_v1.4.zip
brake 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2011 FBX works fine. If you see any hiccups in the camera, have them bake it first before exporting.

brake 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2011 Whoops, sorry for the delay. Was off to work and just got back to checking on this. I'm willing to bet you guys might not be exporting the rightFBX version. I think C4D 11.5 works well with FBX2010 files. Double check what FBX version they are exporting. http://screencast.com/t/Xfegj0SfMcFz
