Is it possible to link individual polygon points to null objects in cinema 4d?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to link individual points from a polygon to null objects in Cinema 4D. Then I would animate the null objects to move the points. I know I can animate individual points with PLA but I'm creating polygons based on null objects from a point cloud. So I want to link the points to the null objects rather than try some crazy keyframing. I'm sure there is a way to set this up via xpresso but I am terrible with xpresso. I'm trying to learn more about it. If anyone can shed some light on a way to do this that would be much appreciated!

be carfeul clusters are really buggy in R13 though. whatever you do, don't try to modify the axis of an object with a cluster null in it. it'll mess everything to shit.

and save incremenetally often, coz ctl+z doesnt always fix it...

Agreed Vozz! r13 has some standout bugs still. They'll be ironed out with reports in time. Ctrl+S doesn't always save, and it's a non-reproducible problem (mac pro 8-core, snow leopard, r13 >latest update) so I can't really accuse Maxon of making a bug. The safest thing is to set Auto-Save for 15/20 minute intervals imo. This doesn't help when you are baking out caches, in fact it causes a horrific bottleneck that means you have to sit there like an ass with your fingernail going white on the F7 key to stop your playback CTI advancing relentlessly. Probably merits a new thread, but I don't want to do a bug thread on r13 because there are official channels for that sort of thing. And r13 is a joy to use most of the time.
