Animated vector flames?

Recommended Posts

Hey I'm trying to find an animated vector flame. Flame tendrils things like that. I know I've seen it done before, but I can't recall where from. I just spent some time on Art of the Title and I don't see anything with animated vector flames. Maybe I missed it or haven't come across the opening yet.

Basically trying to find a good example online with these kind of graphics only rendered to show a graphics person. Anybody here know of an opening or animated sequence out there with this sort of animation that I can reference?

Cheers!

Here are static versions of the look I'm trying to find:

Stare at this for 30 seconds:

Once you see it animated, and you know it's Particular, the trick becomes apparent really quickly. I combined something like this with a vector blur and a bit of crunching to create something more organic. It worked really well.

Chris Graf is a god. It's painful that his videos vanished (but it's worth noting that all his work was animated by hand).

What happened to all of Chris Graf's vimeo vids?! They were pretty kick ass.

That stylized particular flame is dope.

yeah i wish i would have archived those. suuper inspiring and well done

do guys like that usually pencil their motion and then use flash for cleanup?

the kung fu fire is dope. i remember noticing they had a really cool illustrated style for flashback scenes. maybe i should go check out the thai dudes tutorial i had loaded up before i got super busy.
