stick clones to dynamic spline?

setup as follows:



basically it's a cloner set to spline object with spheres as acual clones. The spline then got a hair dynamics tag.I want to make some dangling dripping elements.


I thought I'd possibly use point cache, but couldn't remember how to transfer that data, or if it would work in this situation.

unless I missed something obvious I may go back to the drawing board.

wham-o, blam-o, neato burrito. that's the one.

Is there a particular logic there I should be aware of , one guiding behavior in other similar scenarios?

In other words why don't dynamics work in my previous configuration, or is it a issue specific to spline dynamics. I know regular dynamics will work on clones. :ph34r:
