Light Leaks In AE

Recommended Posts

Pretty clever, would be cool to even tie an intensity slider to them as well, so you can crank em up on que.

I think you could get to the "meat" of the tutorial a little faster, if people don't know how to setup a basic comp for there footage they have a few steps to go before this tutorial I think.

Just on a side note, I don't think the youtube-style of requesting subscribers and likers and stuff really jams well with Vimeo and/or the motion community.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this, I wasn't actually aware of the unmult plugin I can see that it'll be very useful. I'll look foward to seeing more :)

Some feedback, a big reason I might watch AE tuts is to see how other people work and pick up tips on how to speed up my workflow - I find its easy to stay set in my ways and not realise there's quicker or more accurate ways to do things. If anything seems too fiddly, there's probably a quicker way so if I were making the tutorial I would research keyboard shortcuts or other ways to do things, otherwise you may be teaching somebody the wrong practise.

For example, the part where you were scaling your 1920x1080 footage into a 1280x720 comp - you can just hit Ctrl+Alt+Shift+H with your footage selected to automatically centre and scale it to the exact width of the comp whilst constraining the proportions. This is not only faster but also ensures that if you have multiple layers to import that are the same size, they line up perfectly just by hitting one shortcut (even though it is the biggest combo of buttons known to man...)

On that note, when learning software I always appreciated it if there was a shortcut for a menu item I was told the shortcut and shown the option in the menu structure - this meant that it was engrained in my memory more and I could still find it even with a million new shortcuts in my brain (in this case you would right click on the comp - Transform - Fit to comp Width).

Anyway, thanks for the great tutorial - keep them coming!
