Sequence - New reel, Halo 4 case study (finally!)

Recommended Posts

What can I say? It's been a crazy year.

New reel is here: http://thesequencegroup.com/reel

Also, we've finally got the go-ahead to post our Halo 4 case study, which includes a rare photo of my desk :) The case study is here: http://thesequencegroup.com/case-studies/halo-4. It hasn't been officially sent out or linked on our site yet, but feel free to spread it around. Most of the ground was already covered by the FXGuide article about us a few weeks ago, but it's always nice to put things in our own words.

Nice work! I really like the look and feel of everything. Its pretty cool to see the "motion-comic-look" evolve over time and incorporate more 3D...Its also a pain in the ass because the workflow is a lot more complex than just pushing layers around in AE. :P

Very cool. I just saw a demo of how to use the Kinect for mocap the other night at DMALA. Seems like the Kinect will be a game changer to allow more boutiques to have access to doing mocap.

Nice reel also always a fan of the motion comics.

Most of our stuff is still narrative-based, apart from the occasional TV or film title. Our work with comics ended up resulting in really good relationships with a number of media companies who ended up asking us to pitch on different projects. It just all kind of happened organically.

Honestly, I know a lot of people here would love to do more motion comics again--even now, they're so damn fun to work on--but stuff like that doesn't exactly pay well, especially now that there are a hundred companies claiming to specialise in them. But hey! You get what you pay for.
