Speeding up Volumetric Light renders Cinema 4d

Recommended Posts

I am rendering a scene that uses volumetric lighting, I know this always significantly increases render times, but does anybody have any tips for optimizing your scene/tweaking lighting/render settings to get volumetric lighting with as fast of a render as possible? Any tips would be infinitely appreciated.

Thanks!

Adjust the sampling distance and don't use shadows or even just the basic "Visible" light type, not "Volumetric". Renders pretty fast.

Interesting question and thought on this. Is there a way to take your volumetric lights and render them as a multipass option. Forgive my igornace as it is late. If you can do this, the export/render the beauty and compositing passes as one render and then put matte materials in the tags for the rest and render that as just a visible light pass to be put in your scene. Actually have to approach this soon so will figure it out.
