annalord 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2013 I am currently working on an animation of an asteroid field, I have a 150 asteroids I have created by putting a single asteroid inside a cloner object and then using a single Random effector to disperse them, rotate them, and randomly scale them. I would like to have each asteroid rotate and randomly move as if being blown around by some some of solar wind, but I cannot figure out how to do this... how would I go about injecting a little x and z motion into the asteroids and a little random rotation? Philipp 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) Create thinking particles and move them as you want, then use cloner in Object mode on your TP group. It should work. UPD: Turbulence will work fine http://d.pr/i/hNQM Edited May 8, 2013 by Philipp
J Montreuil 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) The random effector has an animation setting. In the Effector tab, change Random Mode from 'Random' to 'Noise' or 'Turbulence'. I would stick a second Effector on your cloner that only changes position and then mess with the animation settings. Edit: Oh, you said wind. This would be more for a random movement. If you want them to move in one direction, you could try a random rotation and then a plain effector that animated the position over time. The Wind Object might affect clones but I'm not sure.
