Tutorial: Chromatic Aberration in AE & Nuke

Recommended Posts

Howdy Mograph,

I just launched a new tutorial on School of Motion about the chromatic aberration effect. I show how to build it in After Effects, and then how to build it in Nuke. In the process I'm trying to show the strengths and weaknesses of the two apps as part of a larger plan to get more mographers into Nuke. Once you wrap your head around the way it works, it's just so much fast and more efficient for things like compositing 3D passes, look development, and of course anything VFX related.

Also, C4D's Alembic export pretty much made C4D -> Nuke workflows amazing, and that tutorial is coming soon.

Thanks for the tut.

Although, if on your each channel you shift the other ones to full off, and choose add as compositing mode, you'll have the same result without the need of tint effect.

Saving time.
