c4d - Losing Extrude/Tracer after cloning

Recommended Posts

I'm testing out an idea off of this tutorial. http://www.schoolofmotion.com/funky-spline-animation-with-mograph/

I basically took the concept and cloned the cloner that animates the null points. I baked the cloner so that it can keep working once cloned. The problem is in texturing. In the tutorial it uses a tracer to make an outline and an extrude to form the surface. I lose it once I clone the object which I have grouped. I can't bake the extrude or tracer before hand so I'm at a lose.

I've tried adding it to the top cloner but its not working.

Thoughts?

Create an instance of the trace result using the Instance object or use a MoSpline and duplicate this as needed. Your failure is inherent in certain limitations in these specific objects and how the calculate the spline.
