"We'll put your video on a channel and pay you"

Anyone get these "We'll put your video on a channel and pay you" type emails, mainly from very localised tv stations or some kind of video arts channel things. Anyone actually done this? I assume they're more trouble than they're worth...

I have friends who have sold shorts to TV, depends how you define more trouble than it's worth. As long as it doesn't prevent you from showing it on the web why not expose it to a broader audience and get some $ out of it.

 

Also Broadcast and film fest showings still carry a lot of weight if you want to apply for grants down the road to make more shorts.
