sbmotiondesign 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 Hoping to get some advice on where to start with grading using Davinci resolve. There are a ton of tutorials online, but looking for something that people with a little more experience with grading might recommend. Less button pushing more theory, but still using resolve. Thanks!
AromaKat 1 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 This book is extremely technical and in depth, while being completely agnostic to software. I highly recommend it. http://www.amazon.com/Color-Correction-Handbook-Professional-Techniques/dp/0321929667/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422600681&sr=8-1&keywords=color+grading&pebp=1422600709045&peasin=321929667

destro 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2015 Alexis Van Hurkman also wrote the DaVinci Resolve 11 User Manual, so when it does come time to press buttons, it's well worth a read.
anothername 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2015 The FXPHD stuff is pretty great. I really liked their resolve quickstart. A good mix of theory and basics of the app.Worked as advertised for me got me up to speed and grading in resolve quickly. And I second the Color Correction handbook recommendation, solid reference.
