vozzz 2 Report post Posted July 4, 2016 these are the only ones i see: i guess with turbo to 3.7ghz it will be ok. ( don't see the one tha tboosts to 4.0ghz). I guess it depends on your requirements. Also, doesn't look like you can put in more than 16gb.. ah ok, i found it, you can config the top one to the faster cpu.. $3.2k though.. i guess the heart wants what the heart wants
Sircharles 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2016 (edited) I know, it is crazy expensive. But I enjoy working on the macs, like a good tool. Was prob just asking about the graphics card - and wether The AMD Radeon was necessary. Edited July 5, 2016 by Sircharles
jasfish 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) If you can wait, it sounds "likely" that a new Macbook Pro is coming later this year. 3Q-4Q. It's been quite awhile since they've done a decent upgrade, so I would hold off if you can. I'm working on an early 2013 MBP. Mainly After Effects/Illustrator/Photoshop with a little C4D. It's been fine, although I wish I had more RAM (only 8 GB). Don't do a lot of heavy expressions work or super processor heavy work so for the most part it's been fine. Depending on what type of 3D work you do, the current models are probably not up to what you might need. Edited July 6, 2016 by jasfish

destro 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2016 I've been using one of these http://www.asus.com/us/site/g-series/ as my mobile mograph computer for about a year (an older model than the latest version). It's big and heavy, but I've had zero problems and made zero modifications. Runs everything including Octane.
vozzz 2 Report post Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) msi gs60, razer blade ( the one with dedicated nvidia gpu). aourus x7 pro, has dual GPU, should be awesome for gpu renderers. but if you really enjoy working on macs, it might be worth the extra price.. can't put a price on comfort. AromaKat 1 Report post Posted July 12, 2016 I'm extremely, and surprisingly happy with my Surface Book. I would never use it as a primary working machine, but as a laptop for those on-the-go moments, its pretty fantastic. There should be a new one being announced soon. Rumors have it at a much better GPU

Moving back over to Windows from Mac so really looking forward to it!
