SPIN VFX 0 Report post Posted July 10 As the Desktop Systems Administrator, you will support the workstation IT infrastructure of the studio providing capability for 180+ artists and developers working on award winning Film and TV visual effects & VR projects. Our primary workstation platform is CentOS 7. Key Requirements Of The Role Identify and resolve issues with applications following agreed procedures Carry out agreed applications maintenance tasks Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures Contribute to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution, providing appropriate information to specialists, users and managers Create and maintain support documentation Use ticketing system software (OSTicket) Install or remove hardware and/or software, and associated connections, using supplied installation instructions and tools Conduct tests and correct malfunctions, calling on help from more experienced colleagues if required, and to document results in accordance with agreed procedures Contribute to investigations of problems and faults concerning the installation of hardware and/or software as required, and confirm the correct working of installations Proactively manage personal development, in order to increase performance levels and provide opportunities for career development Assist in maintaining our digital security polices both internally and externally You Must Have 3+ years experience as a Linux/UNIX Systems Administrator Experience with Linux/Windows/Mac co-environments, sharing data between platforms and managing permissions Experience with Linux installation, Kickstart & application deployment and installation image creation Experience with AD environment and Windows 7 workstations as domain members Experience with configuration systems such as Foreman or Puppet Experience with KVM and oVirt Experience with Veritas backup solution Team-centric working process and proactive problem solver The Following Are Also Considered Nice To Have Solid network skills on Cisco/Brocade/Extreme Networks platforms Mac OS and Windows application deployment and integration Experience in LCD monitor and projector color calibration Experience with VR platforms such as Oculus, Vive etc. If this sounds like you, please submit your cover letter and resume to careers@spinvfx.com.
