Mograph search engine plugin for Firefox

Recommended Posts

Guest yuppster

Not sure if anyone's interested in this, but I made a mograph.net search engine plugin for Firefox. It's basically an quick way to do a mograph.net search from the browser. I also made one for stock.xchng, a great free stock image site.

You can get them both here. They should install automatically when you click on them. I've only tested them on (the great) g5 optimized version of Firefox for OS X, but I see no reason why they wouldn't work on other platforms.

You've got to be kidding me! I've been too busy and not on my home machine to try it out, but I have to chime in without that to say, you made this? That's freaking awesome. Thanks yuppster. We need a wallspace for mographer of the month, like at a McDonald's, and you'd have one for this and that insane MOVE coverage.

Now if we could only get that RSS going... There's a mod for IPB called DarkRiver I believe--Playerhater would know.

Awesome!

This thing rocks... I am very impressed, Yuppster.

I think I may "mograph" * "Camino' -muscle -car -chevy" and see what I come up with.

Thanks again yuppster

Glad you're all finding it useful. I looked into making one for the Cow, but it doesn't look like it's possible. Maybe someone smarter than I could figure it out. Ya, RSS would be awesome. Then I might actually get into using it. Mmmmm "mographer of the month" - my dream is almost a reality.

Ah, I see where it goes after it installs. It's in the pull-down menu on the top search bar, which defaults to Google.

cool, i didn't know this was possible.

Plus, i learnt how to do it myself by learning from your code. I also got the creativecow thing working:

www.happygraphics.net/search/search.html (yuppster: you can find the code at www.happygraphics.net/search/creativecow.src; there were a few hidden input fields, and you have to add the variables from the drop down lists and radio buttons. You may add it to your plugin list so that people can find them all in one place)

it will search the forums "COW: Cowmunications" and "Adobe After Effects"

btw. in the mograph.src it says

</search>
>

but shouldn't it be:

>
</search>

?

Hey Igor,

Thanks a bunch for getting the creativecow search to work. That's awesome. I've added it to my site.

For safari users i found sogudi. It's a free and open source plugin for safari that let you add search engine and custom queries. For performing a search you type in the location bar a shortcut indicating the search engine you want ie "mo" and your search.

Sogudi is here

For customizing it for mograph just add a line in the preferences:

mo

and

http://www.mograph.net/board/index.php?act=Search&mode=adv&f=?&keywords=@@@&forums=all&searchsubs=1&prune=0&prune_type=

newer&sort_key=last_post&sort_order=desc&search_in=posts&result_type=topics&CODE=01
